Cool Box? More like Hot Box!

So, the super awesome Cool Box that takes up my center console doesn't always work like a cool box. The manual states on p. 496 that when the temperature is below 0 Celsius or 32 F, the Cool Box may not operate. Well, it was slightly above freezing when I had four items that needed to be cold...

    Skid plate

I just installed my Toyota OEM Skid Plates. Easy to install and feel heavy duty. The embossing on the plates will make them stronger than a flat piece of sheet metal with some bends. I really appreciated that the design of the Toyota has slots for bolts to hold the plates in place while you...

    New Tire and Rotation

Do you plan to replace the unused spare when it dry rots? To me, that's just a waste of $. I'll rotate all 5 tires on my LC and replace all 5 when the time comes. With TPMS on the spare, I'd know if it's not holding air pressure. Plus, since I'll be doing the rotation myself, I'll inspect...

    New Tire and Rotation

I think a lot depends on your planned use for the LC. I went through a pretty long process deciding what to do both for rims and tires on my LC. Here's a link to the thread: Method 703s & Falken WildPeak AT4. With more than 2000 miles on the new setup, I'm thrilled. Check out the thread if...

    New Tire and Rotation

Maybe you don't realize that the spare on the LC is identical to the other four wheels (both the rim and the tire)???

Anyone else parking their new LC like this, or is it just me? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I park all my vehicles like that. Then some (insert adjective here) parks right next to me. Seriously?!

Considering selling the LC for a Grenadier

A buddy of mine has the Grenadier and really likes it. I've driven his Grenadier and consider to be a cool, highly capable off-roader with some quirks that would absolutely drive me bonkers (it's a long list for me!) I love the BMW B58 on the Grenadier- so much better in terms of performance...

    Heating seats with remote start??

I have exactly the same issue. Not much point in a remote start if I can't warm up the cabin!

    Spare Tire Question

Your issue is one of the reasons I went with the 255/80R17 AT4W Wildpeak. My new spare is 1/2" thinner than the 265/60R20 that came as OEM. You don't mention what kind of tires you put on the LC. Can you share that info? The closest you can probably get is a 265/70R18, which is slightly...

The All-New 2025 Toyota 4Runner: The Icon That Inspires Exploration

I think the RAV4 is Cavalry Blue, not Heritage Blue. It's difficult to tell the difference unless they are next to each other for reference. A friend of mine had the FJ Cruiser in Heritage Blue with the white roof - nice look!

Toyota lists the curb weight as 5360 lbs for the 1958 and 5445 lbs for the base. I'm not sure where I found the orginal number.

Front License Plate Bracket Install --

Has anyone tried the Carbonio holder? $139 plus shipping. Not cheap, but looks like a solid solution.

New Tires and Speedometer/Miles to Empty incorrect.

Unlike Falken, I can't find a load table for the KO3 on the BF Goodrich site. But, if you input the information into an online tire pressure calculator, this is the answer:

31.2 mpg on a chill night, how did I do?

I expect altitude will make a difference in fuel economy. While the turbo boost will compensate somewhat for the lower air density, the drag of a vehicle is proportional to air density. At sea level on a standard day the air density is 1.23 kg/m^3. At 2,000 m (6562'), the value drops to 1.01...

Doug isnโ€™t a fan of our baby

Dougie, Can I call you Dougie? You've done a great job sharing your opinion of the new LC, even if your opinion was more about what you felt the LC should've been, than what it actually is today. Having said that, you are 100% correct about the tinny sounding doors. Let's start with...

    Method 703 (17" +35, Gloss Titanium)+ Falken Wildpeak AT4W 255/80R17

I have no personal experience with the Toyo tires. But, nearly everything I read put the KO3 and WildPeak AT4W at or near the top of All-Terrain tires that are off-road focused. The KO3 wasn't available in the size I wanted, so I went with the Falken. My take is that your choice of tire...

    TPMS part number

One of the advantages of the OEM part is that it is preprogrammed. You'll work through the menu options, then drive around about 5 minutes and they should recognize automatically. Just be sure that you aren't close to any other cars/sensors when you are going through the ID process.

    Method 703 (17" +35, Gloss Titanium)+ Falken Wildpeak AT4W 255/80R17

I've gone from about 22 mpg to 19 mpg. But, it's not an easy comparison because the lower temperatures also decrease the mpg. My best guess is that it's decreased my mpg around 5-10%. Although the tires are the nearly the same size, the addition of 20% more rotation mass at each corner (10...

RAM TRX Wheels on a 2024 1958 Landcruiser?

Yes, bore size is important. The Method wheels are lug centric, but I'm not sure about the ICON wheels. I do know the ICON wheels have been fitted to the LC. The hub size on the LC is 95.1 mm.

Whistle from HVAC while in footwell-only mode

Yup. Even at the low speeds the blower is very loud. I was wondering if I might have an issue with the damper switching between the different modes (def/dash/feet vents). But, I think it might just be poor design.

RAM TRX Wheels on a 2024 1958 Landcruiser?

Agreed! The ICON wheels are awesome on this truck. I ended up with the Method 703 17" wrapped with Falken WildPeak AT4W 255/80R17 tires (running them at 39 psi). The WildPeaks are a true 33" tire and have a stiffer sidewall (E Load) than the old tires, so I gained about 3/4" clearance from...

RAM TRX Wheels on a 2024 1958 Landcruiser?

The difference in wheel width also changes the offset because the offset is calculated as the distance from the center of the wheel. Since the RAM TRX wheel is 9" wide and the 1958 wheel is 7" wide, the calculations to compare the rims must include the rim width. The easiest thing to do is to...

    TPMS part number
