Both vehicles have the same drivetrain, same weight, basically same MPG, same HP/Torque numbers. So I would like a real explanation of why one would require different gas? I'd rather not spend an extra 3k in gas every 5 years due to some weird contradictory ambiguous manual.
My biggest concern is trail "pin striping". This is my first new vehicle I will be taking offroad and on the east coast tight trails leave most vehicles with pin striping. My other offroad vehicles are older and I'm not worried about it, but this being expensive and brand new I am more...
I would never use lockers on slippery roads. They are for offroad. Now if you did get stuck on a very slippery road, i would go to 4L and use lockers to get unstuck. But using lockers on slippery roads will cause you to have less control.
Ive crawled under mine and looked at it and it does appear there is extra room. I think a 20-23 gallon tank would be very easy. However I think if anyone makes one it will end up costing well over $1000 as aftermarket gas tanks are super expensive. Not sure it would be worth the expense to me...
If they were tuned different wouldn't they then get different hp/torque numbers? Why tune it differently in the landcruiser to require 93 but gives no benefit to HP/Torque???
The most confusing aspect is the tacoma hybrid has the exact same engine with same HP/torque numbers which would seem to infer the exact same programming but only requires 87 octane. So either they are lying about the tacoma or the landcruiser, but it is beyond crazy that there isn't a direct...
I'm trying to figure out the best way to charge my camper while driving. On my current truck the 7 pin connector gives next to 0 power to the camper while driving. Would be nice if I could figure out how to charge it while driving so my lithium batteries are always fully charged when arriving...
Parked my 1985 Landcruiser Fj60 next to my new Landcruiser 1958 to get an idea of similarities / differences. I felt a lot of fj60 nostalgia in the new cruiser which is one of the reasons I fell in love with it.
Both cruisers are sitting on 35” tires. The fj60 has roughly 3-4 inches of lift...
