It's because you have the fob in your pocket and run your hand (or sponge or whatever) over the spot that locks the doors. I usually leave the fob in the garage while I'm washing it.
Have any of you hand washers noticed that the LC locks the doors and folds the mirrors when the mirrors or doors come into contact with water? I have noticed it several times. Not sure if there is a setting that is causing this??
My favorite feature of the Garmin is that it can quickly & easily be popped out of its mount and used in another vehicle. I have another mount ordered for my 2nd vehicle and will wire it up next week.
The one I used was the one provided by Dongar, which was only about a foot long. The camera is super small, and smaller than it looks in the photo. It is mostly hidden from view by the mirror, and is barely noticeable unless you are focusing on it. I tried using the right angle connector...
Colored up the LC emblem on the back of the 1958. I am not a big fan of the IForceMax badge, but I colored it black and I think it looks better. It will stay for now. I also purchased the Dongar adapter for the mirror and connected a new Garmin X110 camera. Cheers!

Upon closer review of mine, the locks are black chrome as you said. Although they do not match the matte black lugs perfectly, I really have to look at mine closely to tell any difference.
I didn't try the test tone generators, just relied on sound and touch to confirm no signal, as other 1958 owners have done. I will say that the Beatsonic amp that I installed has an available adapter to run inline with their OEM adapter. The available adapter allows high level (speaker)...
