It will be interesting to see where this ends up. I do expect it will be over sticker.
Keep in mind buyers also must pay BaT a 5% fee on top of the final price.
Barring some dramatic show-stopping issue with the hybrid system, I would be very, very shocked to see them switch away from it after a single model year.
No times posted, but this seems like a pretty big throttle delay. Maybe due to stop/start being active? They talk about Sport mode later in the vid, so you would have to think they know how to turn it on.
Also, not really getting any 'peppy' vibes from his body language.
Agreed. And I think that is the whole point of this thread.
It's just seems odd to me there are many willing to jump in and criticize those of us who are curious, especially considering these aren't readily available to drive.
I'm not trying to turn this into a GX/LC debate, but simply stating that making an 8s car that costs $70K in 2024 is a disappointing choice, regardless of how much you think you are going to use it to crawl over boulders.
At this point if I could swap my LC allocation for a GX I probably would...
We can speculate as to why the LC performs the way it does, but the weights between the GX/LC are effectively the same, and the GX isn't making up ~1.6s 0-60 because of its extra 23hp and 14 ft/lbs of torque.
This was a decision Toyota made intentionally, and IMHO they would have been better...
I doubt anyone is interested in street racing, but having adequate power available for basic driving functions like merging and passing is something most people will come to expect from a $70K car. Regardless of whether you are planing to take this off off-road or not, 99.9% of all Land Cruiser...
I agree. I don't need this to be crazy fast, but I would like to see it at least be responsive. Their description doesn't sound particular inspiring.
I wonder if these tests were done in Sport Mode, and how much this impacts performance.
If there are any current owners here...
Do you notice a...
I would think so too, but there are people who say it doesn't change much. 🤷♂️
I haven't driven an LC yet but I generally find the ride of most non-performance type SUVs to be too squishy, so even if it did firm up some I probably wouldn't mind.
From what I’ve read, collars are a reasonable option for leveling things out. I know a lot of the Bronco Raptor guys use them on the Fox suspension those come with.
I have seen a few posts about ride quality, but I would wager 9/10 times it’s because they swapped their 6-ply tires for 8 or...
I spoke with Westcott yesterday about offsets, and it sounds like 8.5” wide +35 offset is going to be the sweet spot. This is what they are running on both the LC (the blue one in the middle) and GX550 they’ve do so far and it looks pretty amazing!
I ended up pre-ordering their just-released...
My dealer has 9 incoming, all RK.
3 still have dates. The other 6 do not - including my FE which has been stuck in LA since 4/30. 😞
This of course is not something the dealer has any control over, so please take it easy on your sales guy if your car is stuck.
Nice! That’s good to know.
The FE I have coming doesn’t have any POI (other than floor mats) but I was sort of trying to switch to an LC trim which had the roof rack and other things which I didn’t want.
Westcott design’s kit is up for pre-order.
2.5” front and 0.75” rear.
I put an order in yesterday and they told me they will have them available within 60 days.
Planning to pair this with a set of 35s which matches the blue LC and the GX550 on their site. Likely going with K02s which are...
How recent was this? I wasn’t able to find anyone who was successful in making changes in the last few years via a Google search, so not sure if this was maybe a recent change.
It could totally be they are misinformed or just lazy too.
My dealer said none of the port installed options can be removed.
It’s unfortunate as other brands like BMW do allow you to add/remove port installed options up until it goes through processing.
