What has been the delay in receiving your Land Cruisers? I know the right packages are in low supply, however, they are available. Hell, I am about to hit 1,500 miles on mine and am looking to trade it in on a new one since I've read from people living in their mom's basement that these aren't...

    Failure Rates and Reliability Study

According to all the YouTube "experts," every single Toyota / Lexus manufactured in the last two years has self destructed with a fiery end within 3 mos. or 3,000 miles of ownership, whichever comes first. And Toyota / Lexus will be bankrupt and closed completely down by the end of the...

GX550 V6? Is it smoother and more powerful? Towing?

I think the only way to hear a discernable sound difference on any vehicle is either through open/close muffler flaps (as in Porsche Sport Exhaust) or an entirely different exhaust system (Motorwerks, Fabspeed, Borla, etc.).

GX550 V6? Is it smoother and more powerful? Towing?

Thank you for the reply. I have not driven the GX as of yet. I have been very impressed with the LC considering the fact it is a 4 Cyl. Very quick and smooth. The idle seemed a hair rough to me furing the first 1,000 miles. However, since I had the first service at 1k, it has really...

    Painting the plastic

This looks significantly more upscale than all of the unpainted black plastic. This is one issue I have with the Land Cruiser. Even the Premium Pkg looks unfinished. Range Rover Sport did that when they first were introduced and the LR4's had a lot of unpainted plastics. I never have cared...

Land Cruiser and GX550 Crossbars - Are they the same?

This has likely been discussed, so my apologies for a repetitive post. Will the Land Cruiser factory crossbars fit on the GX550 and vice versa? To my untrained eye, it appears the GX550 cross bars have a more squared off shape and perhaps a higher height.....

    My floor board…

"We have the carpet out...." This is scary. If it is a steady flow of dampness, it is regenerating water from one source. I parked mine in my driveway and let it run for a couple of minutes. When I backed out, there was a small trail of water. So, there is water upon starting originating...

Considering selling the LC for a Grenadier

Outstanding looking vehicles and in the right color. I had a law school classmate / friend who had a 90 2 door in green as well. Slow is right. And it was surprisingly not problematic over the three years he drove in through law school. I wouldn’t mind picking a well sorted red, green, or...

    Intro…still shopping

I was very similar. Coming from daily driving a smooth running '22 4Runner Limited V6 (albeit grossly and ridiculously underpowered and noisy), I had to get used to the LC's "rough" engine. I will say after it hit 1,000 miles and after the first oil change, it seems significantly smoother...

Considering selling the LC for a Grenadier

Absolutely. Even driving basic mainstream cars like BMW, Mercs, LR, and Audi are a royal inconvenience when you are not in a somewhat metropolitan city. I can't imagine having to mess with a more red-headed step child branded vehicle. This is why large trucking companies generally go with...

Considering selling the LC for a Grenadier

Around 15 years ago, I was in-house legal counsel for one of the largest commercial trucking companies in the country. They had purchased 1,500 new Freightliner tractors to add and replace units to their fleet. Freightliner was owned by Daimler AG at the time. The new trucks were suffering...

Considering selling the LC for a Grenadier

Have you been drinking heavily by chance? Towing -- Well Above Weight Ratings for Very Short Distance?

Thank you all for your replies. My main reason for raising this issue is the fact I like having control of when I take my boat out of the water for the Winter and put it back in the water for the season. It sits on its hoist on the dock all Summer. If it needs servicing, I just boat it over...
