    Door sill paint protection

This painted area is going to get destroyed over time. Does anyone know if we can order from the Japanese accessories or what our pre made options are? I purchased a 6in by 12ft roll of 3M PPF roll and going to try to make my own, but I would prefer a precut kit. This is a precut PPF kit from...

Hearing a rattle noise at low gear acceleration.

Here is the rattle from inside with all windows up.

Hearing a rattle noise at low gear acceleration.

Hard to tell.. but I don’t think so. More like a piece of thin heat shield vibrating metal on metal. It’s only happening under certain conditions 1500-2000 rpm under load and not all the time. Also it’s difficult to locate or track down because of the sound isolation. Once it comes through to...

Hearing a rattle noise at low gear acceleration.

Mine is coming from the same place and its intermittent. Seems to be worse when engine is under load 1500-2000 rpm and when travelling up hill. Hard to explain. It sounds like a heat shield on the exhaust that is making contact somewhere. I have a good recording but when uploading it gets...

    Two different tach/speed gauge styles.

My gauge cluster will always revert to the expanded view without the tach. It does this after I turn it off and back on. I always have to hit OK to bring back the normal view. Also I have noticed if you remote start the car via the app iOS and get in with the normal key fob, car play does not...

    Center screen protector….

Nice. I got one from Amazon but it was not glass and did not install it. My only concern with installing on the gauge cluster is removing it later if needed and glare from the glass. Also the gauge cluster does not really get touched. But will probably get it for the main screen.

    Two different tach/speed gauge styles.

Thank you. Do you know why the screen changes to wide view when you put it in park? Sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn’t. I have to always hit OK to bring to back to the normal view with the tach.

    Two different tach/speed gauge styles.

I tired to find this setting or drive mode. I have seen two different styles for the tach/speed. Does anyone know how or where this is set? Maybe different models. Mine is bottom image.

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

The only time I haven't change the filter on any car, is when I had the wrong filter and the oil was drained. I would always change the filter when changing the oil. The oil and filter get dirty over the course of 1 year or 3-5k miles. The filter performance will degrade over time and that is...

Took it off-roading..:it’s in the shop

I would agree, I think the FE skip plate or a skid plate that braces the entire lower radiator support area using more mounting points, would give you a better chance over stock of spreading the impact over a larger surface area. We have seen multiple standard skid pads cave in at this point...

New Member intro - White LC Trim w/20” rims and Falken Rubitrek’s. Current & Planned Mods.

Did you notice a big change with tire noise with the switch? The factory 20in tires are nice on the highway, but can't really compare off road. My list and mods is very similar to yours. I want to add 1.5-2.5 with adjustable suspension and fit the largest tire that will still fit in the spare...

Dissent Off-Road Build Out / Off Road Review

I am looking at their rocks rails. Lead time is a wait, but they make them to order. The look is good and can be used as a step. No drilling or cutting. They are close to 140lbs which is heavy but can support the entire vehicle weight. Many youtubers and content creators really just make...

Took it off-roading..:it’s in the shop

Here is a good video showing the front design with the factory skid plates. Even with the FE skid plate the radiator is still low.. in the video he suggest to make a skip plate that ties into the front recover points and reinforced back to the main cross member. Start at 13:00

Took it off-roading..:it’s in the shop

This is my fear as well. Front skid plate mounts to the lower part of the radiator support. That energy is going to be transmitted to lower part of the radiator. A thicker skid plate should help.. I am curious to see what the after market comes up with, this has been well documented in the...

PSA turning AC off when cool box is on.

I spent way too much time figuring this out. If the cool box is on the AC off button center dash is disabled.

Just installed the Toytec 1.5" Front Leveling Spacer Kit

OP, Did you also do the spare 285/70/18? Others have confirmed 275/70/18 fits very tightly. I think the 285/70/18 with a 40 offset wheel and 1.5-2.5 level kit is the perfect balance for this platform. Only issue is the spare.. I don't want to mount one to tailgate. Pair this with a light duty...

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

I had hard time getting a good reading after changing oil as well. The napkin tip helped, when you check the oil multiple times in row, some oil stays in the dip stick tube and will throw off the reading. This is worse with brand new clear oil. I stopped by one of the 5 min oil change places on...

    Front Side Outer Window trim

I think it is how the trim is built. It has to “flex” over the b pillar and that is where it is separating into two pieces. This is not a good spot for it to separate, I could see someone grabbing there to open the door and cause the problem to get worse. It would nice to know what this looks...

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

Everything needed is just common tools. But make sure to have a plan for the oil filter before you drain. Mine was extremely tight. I used a big strap wrench. But going to get the correct oil filter socket wrench for the future. Also I did not tighten the new one like the factory. But if you...

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

You can mix them with your own oil changes. For me personally I would rather just do it myself to know it is done right and keeping the same oil. I believe Toyota care is @ 10000 miles so you could do your own at 5k and have them do it at 10k. I would not wait until 10k for the first change. Get...
