To add - the only time your data is shared from Toyota to any other party is when insurance connect is enabled, which is an explicit separate opt in.
All other functions don’t share data to entities outside of Toyota. Service connect shares with your dealer for service and recall scheduling...
Quick correction, there are zero production stoppages. There are stop sales on 2 models and recalls on a few, but production doesn’t stop unless there’s a major manufacturing flaw that can’t be resolved after they cars are built
Toyota’s hybrid tanks are pressurized during vehicle on conditions, which is why you have to press a button to open the gas cap and it’s not usually immediate. The ECU is venting and depressurizing the tank to make it safe to open and fill.
An auxiliary tank would have to match that pressure...
I'm not allowed to talk specifics, but the engine's design is not the problem. We had no issues with this same engine in use in the LC sedans.
There was a change made in the manufacturing process when we started building them for Tundra/Sequoia that passed all of our initial preprod testing...
It isn't in the manual, but its a well known spec for the Tundra/Sequoia and the wheel lock/lug nut part numbers are the same between both platforms, so logically, the thread size and pitch has to be identical.
Because of how this recall has been reported, many people are thinking this affects every single GX/LX/Tundra/Sequoia.
Less than 1000 vehicles total are affected, of over 150k sold. Statistically, you're more likely to get into a car accident than have any sort of engine failure while driving a...
Just to add facts as a TMNA employee -
2022-2023 Tundras and sequoias with the non-hybrid version of this engine have a recall notice. Approx 100k vehicles, but only 824 (to date) have experienced failures. This does not apply to hybrid or 2024 models. The manufacturing process flaw was...
The QR code on the window sticker is unrelated to the app setup. The head unit generates a QR code to pair your phone for connected vehicle services.
You can see some stuff in the app if you add the vehicle on the web application.
I had the same issue with the brake controller in my Tundra. You have to set up and enable the trailer in the vehicle settings first, which is not outlined in the manual. Massive oversight from Toyota
I feel like this is going to be a very popular choice for LC owners. I’m putting them on my LC, I love them on my TRD Pro Tundra so grabbed a set with spare.
TRD Jon is also putting them on his LC!
You’d need to do this over multiple tanks to average them out as much as possible. Driving conditions and habits have more impact on mpg than fuel grade does.
It isn't his vehicle :( I already asked him about it.
The thread pitch and length of the studs on the Land Cruiser is identical to the Tundra/Sequoia. You can use your OEM lug nuts with no problem.
Dealer texted me earlier that my LC premium in heritage blue is at port in houston and just waiting for QC hold to pass before being trucked up to Dallas. Their estimate is that I should have it by 4th of july weekend
Not that I’m aware of, but it isn’t active if there’s not a phone on it. If you really wanted to disable it, you can unclip the harness to it. It only takes a few minutes to disassemble the center console to get to it
It’s for the wireless charger, just. Warning not to put any metal object under your phone while charging because there’s an increased risk of fire.
