Checked in with the dealer and he sent me the details from the main system - no progress yet to build but the order does look firm and the vehicle is deceived as First Edition 2.8L 5 door A Pam
Not sure about A - have asked - but Pam seems to be panoramic roof
I think that is fair Strad - this forum is helpful - once one us gets news their vehicle is in build we can start to chase our dealers but as things stand it’s possible the whole UK order book is pending and it seems the dealers have no more info than shows on the App
The guy doing the trip was “Logsplitter” - his photos and stories from his epic drive across Southern Africa is quite something
The one thing that is undeniable is that there are a core group of very evangelical owners who love the Grenadier
Each to their own
Really hope I get my LC in...
To be fair one guy did a quite monumental trip across Southern Africa in one - a few issues but he did pretty well - had a host of terrible experiences but nit vehicle related
It seems to be a vehicle that is very much weighted to off road and pretty hard going on tarmac and with an as yet...
But as I said they have managed to draw together a lot of very supportive owners and would be owners and they have in the main shrugged off the issues as OK for a new vehicle if you got the ÂŁ60k or whatever it was intro price in a quasi kick starter style deal I can see the logic - those being...
They have a lot of very passionately supportive owners - the forum is excellent - if you spend any time searching you will find info on a lot of quite troubling “teething issues” - the right hand drive transmission tunnel bump was too much for me - add water leaks from safari window , water...
Not sure about the grenadier - I followed the whole project closely - drove a de o - made an order but cancelled it when I drove a real one on road - lot of issues sadly - I can’t insure a defender in London - same with Range Rovers
There is no way that would be an answer - a shotgun slip for a 30/32 inch barren shotgun is 54 inches long generally - I want to be able to accommodate 2 double slips hence the diagonal requirement across the cargo area of an SUV like a Landcruiser - I don’t have my new LC yet as UK deliveries...
Ok so as a result of the lovely folk that chimed in on my intro post I think we now have 4 or 5 folk with orders in the UK
I wanted to start a UK thread for status update
I’m still at bullet #1 waiting to move to in build for my UK spec FE
Thanks - it looks like it wastes valuable space by causing anything slotted to be held up from the floor by the 2 inches or more section that forms the frame of the support
Hopefully there will be other solutions available in time but thanks for replying
The issue I have is the central struts - I want to slot shotguns diagonally and place a dog crate and Labrador on top - with the full length strengthening it would not be possible
As much of the forum is US based i wanted to add UK to the heading to ask a specific question to the UK members
Having just been down to Devon for a country weekend in my L322 Range Rover which involved going down narrow sometimes overgrown lanes and realising the LC is 4 inches wider I am...
The reports suggest the 2.8 diesel will give over 500 miles with an 80 litre tank - many issues with diesel in UK and set to get worse I fear with eco driven “penalty tax” and road pricing - heck they may try to squeeze its sale out of low emmission zones
I am taking the risk but it’s a...
My dealer is not saying the same thing as yours Dave - he is saying I have an order - he may be wrong technically I do not know but that’s how things stand for me
Let’s hope the fact they are intending to start builds of the UK FE in July means the process moves forward quickly and such...
The vehicle used for the J250 promo video with the woman driving (see the post on the videos thread) seems to have a panoramic roof or a moon roof - bigger than a standard sun roof but it could be a fixed glass roof
And the US specs folk have posted and the manuals on line have the Term “moonroof”
Seems like sunroof is the normal size - a pan is twice the size and opens and the moonroof is twice the size but does not open
Not sure really but pan is the word I saw on the spec they released
I may be wrong but I do not think I have seen a vehicle with anything other than a normal sunroof on the videos on YouTube - think for example of the left hand drive German plated one that Top Gear drove
Just to add a little more weirdness my “Toyota Customer Consultant” (which is a really weird title in itself) says it is “an order” and I will be notified when the order moves to the build stage which is expected at some time from a point in July
The suggestion seems to be that once you reach...
I managed to find my “order” on the “My Toyota” App and it is there with an entry against the first bullet “Order in Process”
Then it apparently moves to “Build in Progress” “Left the Factory” “ In Transit” “At Dealer”
Maybe it’s my lawyers mind but an “order” can only be “in process” if it...
With a forum of over a thousand people and 4 blokes from the Uk chatting about Uk issues we might need a WhatsApp group so we don’t distract !!
Well apparently I do have a confirmed order - time will tell - this does seem to be a rather odd process
