In the US, every mid-trim LC comes with running boards, premium package or not. About a week ago I stopped by my local dealer and looked at a mid trim w/o premium package and it had them.
Thought this might be of interest to the folks here. A dealer I have a deposit down at just got allocated a Trail Dust w/Java Leather interior. It's already claimed, but apparently Toyota is making them. And that just got added to my preferences!
That's the dominating factor, E vs. C -- lots of SL/C load options around 33" for the 20" wheel, pretty much only E load for the 18" (unless you stick with the smaller than 33" stock size). For the 18" wheel the tire options all gain 10-12+ lbs and that more than offsets any weight advantage...
I understand, I won't 100% believe it until I see a few more reports! I have seen three people (two here) report 33.2" K03's fit in the spare location. I'm really considering a 33.43" tire, I've been hoping to see a few people say those fit for sure. That FB post was the first I saw anyone...
I did some rough conservative calculations and had to completely guess at the 20" wheel's weight, and I still came up with 18" + E load vs 20" with standard load for the same tire, the 18" requires about 15% more torque for the same wheel acceleration. That's still a small fraction of the total...
A user in one of the FB groups posted that Toyo Open County A/T III in 285/70R18 fits in the spare tire location. Along with no rub turning. That’s listed as 33.7” diameter by the manufacturer.
I’m wondering what impact California’s junk fee ban (which went into effect today) and the federal CARS ban of junk fees in auto sales (goes into effect at the end of the month?) will have on dealer markups and add ons. There are a couple local dealers that don’t list prices online, they simply...
I'd like to know too. So far the only folks I've found who have mounted 285/70R18's have not tried to put them in the spare location. 275/70R18 Ko3's fit but it's tight.
Maybe I'm mis-reading your post but I don't see the 275 in C, only E.
The 20" wheels are optional, but right now Toyota is making the decision for dealers. In my area and others, every premium package LC has 20" wheels. In other areas none of them do, they're all 18". It's really annoying. But if it comes to it, it also wouldn't be the first time I drove a few...
I was just trying to find this myself. For the stock mid-grade 18" wheel, the Car and Driver flex test video put wheel + tire at 65.0 lbs. Michelin says those are 37.7 lb tires which would make the wheels about 27.3 lbs.
I'm wondering if anyone has weighed the 20" upgrade wheels?
Since I have all the data sheets on my computer anyway...
The BFG KO3 doesn't currently come in any ideal sizes. The Nokian Outpost nAT comes in 275/60R20 standard load (115H) which is right at 33" and only 46.3 lbs in that size. (There's also a 56 lb LT probably E load version.) The...
I wasn't sure where to add this since there's no Land Cruiser compared to the FJ Cruiser thread, so maybe this is the best place?
We stopped by our local dealer yesterday and they had three Land Cruisers, one of each trim: First Edition in trail dust, mid Land Cruiser (no premium package) in a...
As a physicist I endorse this post. Same with my FJ, I only drive 80 if I’m in a hurry and don’t care how much gas I burn. Slowing down even just to 70 makes a lot of difference.
On our last two other vehicles, both hybrids, there are various modes and tricks for increasing highway...
We drove by our local dealer today (Fremont Toyota) and they have a Trail Dust first edition. Like others have said, it’s way more brown in person than the yellow you see in photos. I love the color. (My wife was less thrilled, she definitely likes the Heritage Blue of our current FJ more!)...
A couple other people have successfully fit the KO3 275/70R18 in the spare location. TBD if other brands in that size will fit, many other brands run a little oversize.
A couple people have confirmed now that the K03 in LT 275/70R18 fits in the spare location but doesn't have much room to spare. BFG says that tire is 33.2" in diameter. Those run a little smaller than some other brands which list their 275/70R18 tires as 33.43" in diameter. I'm waiting to...
