Like you it's my second FJ. If we had more space, maybe I'd keep it? But we don't, and what I get from selling it will help a lot in paying for the Land Cruiser!
A ~1" leveling lift for the front would be nice since the low clearance point is up there. I'm with you though, I see all kinds of spacer lifts appearing and I don't really want to reduce the Land Cruiser's excellent articulation range with one of those, I'll wait until there's a real...
Most new vehicles of any sort say you can't use chains. I suppose that's why, so they don't have to cover the damage under the warranty? In the Sierras in the winter we have to carry chains of some sort, but driving three peak tires and 4WD/AWD vehicles, they've always just waved me through...
Someone pointed out (and it was obvious when I sorted tires by weight!) that the General Tire Grabber A/TX is about the only "Off-Road AT" tire available in 33.2" 275/70R18 in standard load and the same weight range as the stock size standard load off-road tires. Maybe an option if you want a...
Several folks have reported that 275/70R18 heavy duty off-road tires fit (just barely) in the spare tire location. It does hang down a bit more. A few people have said 285/70R18 fits, but take that with a grain of salt.
See these threads and the spreadsheet in the second one / in my signature which is in part an attempt to condense the info in the first thread:

Maybe get wider rock rails instead? Those will also help protect from door dings (from cars at least, not so much other tall trucks/SUVs). For instance:
Are there markets other than the US that get the round headlights? In some markets I've only seen the two different rectangular light options -- the projectors we get and a reflector set.
I can't imagine Toyota would drop the 1958 bare bones model. Will it still have round headlights? No...
Almost certainly. 275/70R18’s fit well, they’re as wide and slightly larger diameter than those. A Toyota/Lexus engineer said at a SEMA vendor event that these are designed for a 33” tire. Misread the tire size -- yeah that size would be pushing the limits of what fits.
Maybe, but the individual reports sometimes contradict that. I've excluded a few that only gave city driving results. And I'd still think for most people it's a mix, and the mix would be variable.
Pulled in data from IH8MUD (eliminating obvious duplicates from here) and one YouTube video. The IH8MUD thread is about MPG in general, not specifically low MPG, and has a lower proportion of low MPG reports. But also only about a dozen (non-duplicate) reports compared to almost 40 here...
A few reporting in the 20's for the Lexus? About half the responses in this thread have been in the 20's. Here's the distribution:
Quick take: this distribution does make me wonder if there's some common/frequently occurring factor that causes several people to be stuck around 17, but I...
Several owners are reporting 20-something MPGs with the LC though. Like maybe half? Are any GX550 owners reporting that?
My guess is this is an issue with any turbo charged 4 cylinder. The hybrid engine probably improves it a bit. I used to drive a WRX (during a brief misguided period...
It would be a lot more efficient to charge it over DC -- if you use the AC outlet it'c converting DC to AC and then AC to DC, with power loses at both steps.
Having said that, if anyone local wants to measure the waveform, stop by any I'll bring out my oscilloscope.
Thanks for posting this, I'd seen some other post saying it didn't fit and I couldn't figure out how that could possibly be. And good to hear it doesn't trick the LC into thinking there's a trailer.
How easy is it to remove if you're going to use the hitch?
