Its not the I-force Max engine and fulltime 4wd powertrain trim. If this were a Taco Limited Iforce Max model, then you might be able to compare situations to LC.

And for potential Tacoma hybrid owners I think that may be a bit of a disappointment. You’ll pay more for hybrid, but it will tow less, have less payload and just marginally get better mpg. Hopefully you’ll have more fun doing this ( acceleration & torque) 😊!!
Good catch…I guess as an FJ owner you would know the history :) I was aware of the Supra with the BMW engine that also required premium fuel. Maybe there are other examples too?
Well I guess I will wait and see until other official info from Toyota comes out (ie ops manual, road test review). This would be somewhat of a departure for Toyota to require premium fuel considering other new hybrid max models are using regular fuel or maybe the LC is tuned using a Lexus ECM...

Had a deposit on a 24' Limited Taco and recently test drove an SR5 trim. I wasn't disappointed exactly, but felt "wanting more" from it. I guess I'm used to SUVs now that any truck drive is not going to be as good as an SUV?? Limited trim should be better though...
I still don’t see the prices on Toyota.ca yet…will keep checking. However I did notice on that they changed the estimated fuel consumption figure from 8.7 to 10.1 L/100km. Guess this lines up with USA numbers.
Just curious why they settled on 6,000 lbs max? The 2024 LC Euro spec with 2.8L Turbo 4 diesel has less HP and torque and yet has a 7716 lbs max tow rating. Here’s a snapshot of the text from the article:

FWIW, all the press I have seen or read for the new Tacoma Hybrid (same engine as LC ), is that regular fuel only is required. The above comments are the first time I’ve heard that premium fuel will be required for the Max engine.
Autoblog indicates 90.5 cuft for GX for total cargo area. Also note that GX550 is approx 4 inches longer than LC so that may translate into more cargo storage?? They dont have info on LC 2024 yet.

The battery is in the cargo floor area so it will take up some space. The 2nd row seats also fold and/or fold/slide vertically to offer more cargo area. But who knows for sure until we see some real reviews. Someone else on here questioning the legroom spec as it seemed way too low. Maybe...
Are the LC 22/25 mpg official from EPA. And just curious the Highlander Hybrid Max with same engine is getting 26/27 mpg. GHMax is a slightly bigger vehicle (longer) but looks like its curb weight is 100# less than LC. Was curious why LC won’t get 26/27?
