I was reading a thread on IH8Mud.com about the differences in the differentials on LC vs GX and also compared these to Tacoma and Tundra a bit.
Seemed to settle on that the LC gets a smaller differential (8.2ā) vs GX at 9.5ā.
Can anyone confirm this? If so then does this mean another...
Is that a 2 seater? Or maybe prototype doesn't have back row yet or folded down??
Back not as "square" as the LC. Screen looks like the 14" one from Tacoma.
Yeah 4Runner might be another option for me too and for us Canadians may be able to get one before the LC
Good video. So for sure the GX has advanced suspension ā¦not sure if itās all the trims or not.
So does the new LC have some sort of AVSā¦.adaptive suspension?
Hereās a marketing statement from a Toyota dealer website:
āIn terms of off-road capabilities, the 2024 Land Cruiser is second to...
I think they are Michelin LTX Trail at least the 265/70r18. New tire that I believe was also on the Tundra. Reviews I saw were that they donāt last very long. Yupā¦Sounds like an OEM tire. I have had other Michelins on my vehicles over the years and happy with them. Not sure about these...
Not sure what your dealer meant by thisā¦.but Tacoma trailhunter hasnāt been released or sold yet. And Tacomas are made in Mexico, LC in Japan. Two different production lines. Bottom line though is thereās not enough official intel coming from Toyota on a number of things.
Is that the diesel powertrain with 3rd row seating? Hard to tell.
Here's another.

Probably look at an anti theft system first on the list. Will have a garage to park at home but to drive you actually have to take it out of the garageā¦.lol. Car theft is at an all time high in Ontario these days especially with high end and newer SUVs & trucks.
Anyone hear of or try the...
Yeah I also looked for the Taco hybrid to compare. Should be out soon I would think.
FWIW, Using the EPA assumed prices/estimated usage I personalized the cost of premium to equal the regular price. Turns out to be $2750 less over 5 years if regular was usedā¦.assuming you could use regular...
EPA official numbers. Premium fuel.

Another comparing GX550 and Tundra Hybrid. Tundra cheaper to run with lower mpg but uses regular fuel.

Saw that video awhile backā¦feel the same as you. Itās certainly a bit of a marketing mystery to me. Very few road tests and reviews out there for the Tacoma IForce Max as well. ???
I found this while looking for some more info on specs for the 2024 LC. Quite surprising actually.
Hopefully no ācheatingā on the 2.4 IForce max performance figuresā¦.

Have you looked at the Grand Highlander Hybrid or Hybrid max. If you are not looking to off-road much they are gonna be better for fuel economy, seating/cargo storage, etc. than the LC. The GH max tows almost as much as LC. Different look for sure but a solid crossover SUV if you can find one.
Yup, maybe Lexus using Toyota to de-risk any possible technical issuesā¦,keeps their reliability numbers in top spot. If Lexus were clever about it they would offer both the V6 and IForce Max in future offerings.
I agree. That and the acceleration are hard to believe to me too. If true, this LC iForce max is starting to have some serious drawbacks that may make my decision easier to not buy.
I'm not an expert (that's my out) but my interpretation is that ASTM D4814 is a general standard, and that likely all commercially/publicly sold 87, 89, 91 octane gas needs to comply with.
There are more specific standards that determine octane number... ASTM D2699 and ASTM D2700 are 2.
We can...
Well the guy in the video has some good points but has he been living under a rock the last couple years? What has the inflation rate been the last few years? The whole supply chain was/is still messed up. Itās not just Toyota or Lexusā¦all the OEMs are doing the same. Like it or not vehicle...
My Canadian dealer indicated that the LC is virtually a 2025 model launch in Canadaā¦very very few 2024s to go around. Heyā¦.someone has to get the bugs outā¦might as well be our good friends in the US. šā¦.hopefully not paying over MSRP for this privilege.
Yeah, those gas prices are similar to my neck of the woods here in Canada (10-20% more for premium gas).
On the premium commentā¦.the cloth seats are not a good fit for thatā¦but heyā¦.you get to fill up with premium gas.
On the marketing comment, as an engineer/engineering manager with product...
It certainly does. So premium fuel to get the hp and torque numbers then or what? Be interesting to see what comes about for the Taco TRD Pro, TH & Limited trims with same engine and similar power train. If LC takes premium and Taco takes regular then logic would say Hp and torque wonāt be the...
