Now that there are a few more vehicles on the road checking to see if anyone in Eastern Ontario is looking for rock rails and wants to swap out their running boards.
That’s actually a genius idea. I tried it and the tire fits perfectly.
I sliced just under half the tire off (leaving the inner lip to grab the volume knob) and it looks nice and works great.
Hi - sorry for the delay in responding. The service appointment record only says "Serviced rear brakes at this time. No visual signs of parts rubbing causing squeal. If squeal still present in the morning after rear brake service recommend having vehicle stay over night to be able to duplicate...
Darn - I was hoping that was the issue. They serviced all my brakes today. I turned the auto parking brake back on to see if the squeal returns tomorrow morning.
I am sitting in the Toyota dealership right now with the same issue. They can’t replicate it as it has already been driven today. They are servicing the brakes to see if that makes a difference but I am not too confident.
One thing I tested was turning off the auto-parking brake. I did it last...
I park mine in the garage every night. It screeches every time I back out of the garage. But stops after the initial braking. I am closing in on the 8KM check-up. I would like to see if anyone solves the issue before I bring it in.
Bumping this post back up as more people take possession of their Land Cruisers. Anyone looking to swap their running boards for rock sliders in Eastern Ontario?
If you think it may be the seatbelt (b) pillar try wrapping some electrical tape around catch in the door frame. I for sure thought that the rattle was coming from the pillar but I think it is the latch. I wrapped enough so that the door wouldn't close and then backed off a couple of loops.
I...
So I think it may be the door release and/or the striker. I wrapped some electrical tape around the striker and that seemed to remove the rattle (it is strange how noise travels). I did try adjusting the striker but there doesn't appear to be much allowance to adjust.
I will drive it a little...
I don't have a rattle in the rear seat but there is a rattle in the seatbelt pillar. What did the rattle end up being? I heard it could be the door striker and latch mechanism.
I picked up my 2024 LC last week and have noticed a slight rattle in the driver's side B pillar. It sounds like it is coming from the seat belt adjustment area. It doesn't happen all the time or going over large bumps. But when hitting a series of smaller bumps (like a rumble strip) I hear a...
I tried recalibrating and I think it worked this time! Thanks! I will give it a couple of days and see if it sticks. Now just to figure out how to permanently turn off the FCTA warning.
I have the same issue. It is programmed into position 1 (when I push one the seat advances). But just starting the car only the steering wheel moves. Hopefully you find a solution and can share it here!
Did you ever find an easy way to remove the center caps? Usually when I can't find a good plastic pry tool I use the brick separator that comes with LEGO sets.
Hey - just picked up a set of these for my Land Cruiser. How did you get in behind the grill to tighten the nut? Did you need to remove the cover of the grill?
Just picked up my FE Land Cruiser and so far loving it! However, my mother hasn't had a ride in it yet as she can't get in. Wondering if anyone in Eastern Ontario picked up a 1958 or LC trim and would like to swap rock sliders for running boards.
Oh no. Sorry to hear that. On my Audi it switches to tow mode (turns off blind spot indicators and puts the back-up camera into "trailer" view) when plugged in. But for whatever reason that car needs to be off when I connect the adapter. In the LC user manual it says that the parking sensor and...
Nice write-up! I am in the same position (have a 2010 A4 and a 2017 Q5). I will be trading in the Q5 for the LC. How do you find drive quality, noise level, pick-up compared to the Q5?
I did this with my Audi when I have a bike carrier attached. I needed to use a 7-pin trailer adapter with a tester (like this one Amazon.com). With this plugged in the car goes into tow mode and the sensors don't go off. I think the tester is enough for the car to see a current.
I am in the same situation. I had my order confirmation in February for an LC Premium trim in Trail Dust which was in "Pending Fulfillment". Since then the dealer hasn't heard anything in terms of delivery. I was hoping to have something by the end of August but now I just hope to get it...
