Try to lightly keep your foot on the brake.
Too much and the "real" brakes will kick in.
Would be nice to have a gauge to show that too.
Today I went to work "rushing" and my MPG went down to 19 (from 26 last week)
Any small driving variations results in a huge MPG swing...
I still have the old tires and compared it side by side and the height about the same (granted its not mounted and with the car load, so we can assume is a bit taller)
But the difference that impressed me was the tire thread width:
it's nearly a full inch wider!
Next week I should be able to do a good mpg comparison on my usual morning commute.
I like to believe the rotating mass will help the regenerative braking 😅
I really wanted to keep SL rated for the same reason, I absolutely have zero reasons for a C rated or higher tire.
I wanted 275 or something bigger but the SL was a must but limiting at the same time.
Overall is a tighter ride. I just have 50 miles in so early to tell. for now hear a bit more...
After a lot of back and forth settled for some Falken Wildpeak AT4W OEM size, SL load range
Trying to keep the best everyday comfort, MPG and give that extra winter and offroad capabilities. And of course, the looks.
Still hard to believe Toyota shipped this cars with all seasons.
The opposite.
Drive in ECO mode, try to keep the engine off as much as you can, light brake before lights/stops, easy on the gas pedal and so on.
It's very easy to do specially in morning traffic.
We all are buy new cars at this point. You have 60 months/60000 miles to be sure that specific car/engine don't have any major problems.
if anything happens before, fix on Toyota dime and move on.
Simple like that.
Getting used to how to use the hybrid system already paying off:
I went from 23 to 26 mpg on my short drive to work (10 miles). Just observing the "max" gauge and the rpm.
impressive how small changes in drive habits can result in a huge mpg difference in this car.
Just push it past the lock.
it's tight, isn't going anywhere, plus there's a cable behind.
Even if move some (never did) it's safe.
used for over a year in my 4Runner just like that
I have those for a while
Removed from my 4Runner.
The reverse light on the 4Runner was pretty terrible, even with aftermarket taillights.
I have not tested how good are the LC reverse lights, but wouldn’t hurt have a bit more.
The difference is I installed it flush with the tow hitch
Anyone done that on the LC?
I messaged Sto n sho but haven't got any answer. I had their kit in a previous car (Charger Scatpack Widebody) and was awesome.
