I realize how specific this question is, BUT anybody have a height measurement for their truck on larger tires? Need to know if I will be able to fit in my garage!
Had a GX460 before this - loved the rig but hated the power (never re-geared) and the mileage and the old tech.
Daily commuter, camper hauler, overland trip maker, snow beast hopefully (live at 8600’ and the fam likes to ski and get out), and occasional trail vehicle is what is in store for...
He mid-typed. He means 285/70/18. I don’t even know if there is a manufacturer that offers 285/75/18s, and for sure not in a Falken.
It is just short of a 34” tire
Thanks - I’ll see how it levels and sows and keep these in mind.
Previously, the load distribution hitch is all I needed to keep everything ice and level.
I’ll track transmission temps during my first tow, and keep my fingers crossed, but my suspicion is that you are correct about wanting an auxiliary cooler.
Why the “cooler” in quotes - that is what it does. Agreed, that a devoted system for the tranny fluid is better at “cooling”, but this system is a helluva lot better than not leaving the system at all.
That is why the LC. Much better transmission and torque numbers than the GX had. My...
Got it - so just circulation in the small housing, not circulating through the entire radiator housing.
I guess we will see.
I would tow with my GX and a dedicated tranny cooler was necessary. Of course , 34” tires and Colorado passes didn’t help the problem.
I really hope this is going to tow...
Not familiar with this setup….so it would seem radiator fluid and antifreeze both circulate through that housing (separate of course). If that is correct, that should cool the radiator pretty well.
IMHO the LC money and compromises with fuel economy and on road performance are not worth it if you do not use this vehicle off road at least occasionally. From the description of your lifestyle and previous vehicles, a full time 4wd with a stabilizer disco and a locking rear are not going to...
