Just got my LC yesterday, will be taking the roof rails and cross bars off on Saturday. Perfect condition.
$550 for the rails (plus shipping)
$250 for the crossbars (plus shipping)
$700 for both (plus shipping)
I'm near Nashville and will drive a bit to avoid shipping for someone interested.
I'm just thinking about the door handles. They look great right now but within in a few months, they are going to be scuffed and rough looking I think.
Has anyone looked at putting PPF on the door handles? I have the factory/port installed PPF and it protects the paint on the door. However, the shiny black plastic on the door handles are going to get scuffed pretty quick in my opinion.
Any reason why PPF shouldn't/couldn't be applied the door...
Is there any concern that sliding one of the small screws over a rock will mangle the screw head to point that it couldn't be removed easily? I know that a 14MM bolt could do the same to some degree but typically, I think those bolts are generally much harder (Grade 5 or 8) whereas these small...
I assume you meant 35mm outwards (60-25 = 35), and yes, that is correct. As @thomez has pointed out, any additional width of your new wheel (stock are 7 and 7.5" wide) and new tires could push the tires out a bit more as well.
Icon has some that are 40MM offset. If you search the Discount Tire...
My guess is that they will get rid of both 1958 and First Edition and we will be left with just the Land Cruiser with packages you can add on for extras, similar to the Premium package you can get now. I don't see them splintering the LC across multiple trims like they do the Tacoma and 4Runner...
Thanks and me too! I'm heading to CO and Moab in September and hoping everything I've used on my 200 series will transfer over to the 250. However, for the trip, I use a home-built rack that I bolt onto my Rigd Ultraswing for my eBike. The Ultraswing was designed for a spare tire and has a 250...
Are you saying the external dimensions of the receiver is 3 and 5/8" wide? I was getting confused between the title of the thread and the discussion of 3/8" and 5/8" pins.
2. There is no "traditional" alternator on the 250. See this Youtube video by the Car Care Nut. In it's place, there is a large inverter under the hood that is responsible for charging the 12V battery. When you say "20 amp inverter" are you talking about the 120 inverter in the back of the...
One thing I was thinking about doing is draining the oil almost immediately and using a magnetic drain plug until the first "real" oil change to try and capture any metal debris left over from manufacturing. Then swap it out with the Fumoto. Any thoughts?
I agree on "taking a chance". My 13 year old 200 series also uses that size and it just makes financial sense for a manufacturer to use the same size across the board wherever possible on things that every vehicle they manufacture has, like an oil drain plug. Keeps inventory simple.
When you say "diagnostic computer", do you mean something other than a laptop you have in your garage or is it a specialized piece of equipment? For example, I have a laptop I keep in my garage that I use on my 200 series that I can hook up to the OBD port and run TIS. If it's just a standard...
They have brackets that will hold an LED bar. That being said, I'm sticking with my Prinsu that comes standard with a wind fairing that has an LED bar cutout (if desired).
It's interesting how the SL and E rated versions of this size tire (265/70R18) from Falken are significantly different in diameter. According to Discount Tire, the SL version is 32.6" whereas the E version is 33.43".
I had a Jeep CJ5 in the early 90's and when the top was off, the only way to counter it was 300 Watts straight into a couple of 12" subwoofers! Of course, it canceled the road noise for everyone else on the highway as well. 😂
This is the thing I hate most about the ACC on any vehicle. You don't realize you've slowed down until you realize you've been doing 45 in a 55 zone for the last 10 minutes because the guy in front of you is going slow and you had it on ACC.
Has anyone started looking at options to reduce sounds coming in from the exterior? I haven't taken delivery of mine yet so I'm not sure how the road noise will compare to my "luxury" LX570 with General Grabbers.
Even better would be 3 sections.....rear, 40, 60. That way you could leave the rear plate installed and put the seats back in when not full-on overlanding.
One thing I've never been able to figure out is the whole "Duty Cycle" thing. The 88P specs say 25 minutes at 30 PSI. What does that mean exactly?
It'll run for 25 minutes before it needs a break?
How long a break?
What does the 30PSI have to do with it?
What if I'm pumping my tires up to...
