If the new ones at the dealer have the same sound then itās most likely normal. A universal bearing what is that. The only one I can think of is the rod bearing. A bad Rod bearing isnāt likely to get silent. Someone needs to try to listen to the sound on a Tacoma.
One of the videos Mr Pro posted sounded like an exhaust leak to me. I doubt itās anything internal. Some of the older 4.7 engines had a faulty exhaust manifold. They would leak when cold and the video sounded similar in my opinion.
I doubt there will be any cylinder wash down. The hybrids have been around for years and donāt seem to have this problem. The engine only shuts off once warmed up.
What does everyone recommend for a cold weather windshield washer fluid. Iāve used the orange rain-x in the past. I think the Rain-x gums up the spray nozzles over time.
I believe it will be reliable. Toyota isnāt known for producing junk. The engine has been out for a bit without any hiccups. If a problem does arise Toyota takes care of it.
I believe mine is in Portland. My LC is in the 5000 range. I asked my dealer yesterday and it was still on QC hold. I hope mine comes off QC hold this week.
