Looking at the manual, I believe page 440, blinking means its trying to lock or disengage depending on what you select. While a solid symbol indicates it's locked. Keep in mind to lock the rear diff lock the center diff lock needs to be engaged first. I had a go of it today without any issue...

I used tin snips to cut around the top and pulled the filter media out, and examined in between the pleats for any metal material. I believe any metal from cutting would be outside the filter media and not embedded in the pleats, if that makes sense.

Completed the first oil change at 850 miles, no fuel smell but a little glitter in the oil. I cut open the oil filter to exam for metal shavings and found none. I also sent a sample to BlackStone for their analysis and will update once I get the results.

I would like to make a deal as well but the distance makes it unrealistic.

I found there was a large difference between the trip computer calculation and manual calculation for MPG, I would recommend to start with the latter for a true baseline, if you haven't done so already.

I thought so as well from reading past comments on MPG. I've been using 93 octane, driving in eco mode while being as light on the right pedal as possible. Happy so far.

I find the trip computer not that accurate. I've done about 600 miles and all but one fill-up has been around 23 MPG town/highway mix, the last fill netted 27 MPG all highway. All have been hand calculated.

They don't look painted, at best maybe zinc plated? I really like how Toyota made the 4Runner TRD Pro skid plate, wish these were similar.

Knowing these are made of steel and not aluminum, have they been galvanized by chance? Living in the North Country corrosion is my biggest concern.
