Did anyone get a LC with port install hood PPF? Was it done properly and can you see a line on the hood where the PPF ends? I believe the hood PPF is partial, doesn't cover the entire hood.

I have never seen any hood PPF's which were total coverage, only the more rock-prone hood front. Don't know if there is basis for it, but prefer port-installed PPF, whereas the dealers like to do this for increased profit. In the case of the Land Cruiser, the windshield will certainly be a rock catcher.

It came on mine. It covers the whole hood panel, but it does not wrap over the edge. Its cut cleanly 1/8th of an inch all the way around. There is no PPF on the quarter panels. There is also a 8 inch triangle on the lower corner of the passenger door.

Are the edges very noticable? I'm curious how it'll look after a year or two.
On my black FE, you really have to look, and depends on how the light is hitting it. It covers the first 1/4 of the hood, front fender flares, area of the fog lights and mirror backs.

Not intended to offend, but cannot stand the plastic deflectors mounted in front of the hood. Would they even survive a car wash?
No offense taken...I have them on three different trucks right now, one since 2004. Never had an issue with them. They are very effective preventing rock chips and are somewhat effective lessening the impact of bugs on the windshield.
I couldn't stand them either until one come on the 04 F250. The one on the Tacoma (see avatar) only sticks up about 1/4 ". Kind of one of those things, ya like 'em or ya don't.....LOL Like I can not stand wheels hanging 3-4 inches out of the fenders, some think it's the coolest thing, others do it for larger tire clearance .... me I spent a small fortune for wheels and tires for the Tacoma that actually look like they belong.

I certainly agree with you re the wheels protruding from the trucks! Here in snow country the obnoxious drivers love it when the snow/slush slings everywhere, and onto nearby vehicles, often containing gravel.

It will depend on the color. The Meteor Shower I think will hide the edge quite well. White, maybe will catch a little dirt at the edge that will be noticeable after a year? Hard to say. Here are front, side, and cowel photos.

I really dont like saying something bad about anothers pride and joy, but that ppf job has horrible fitment. Leaving the front most edge exposted is counter productive and I would never accept that.
Quite happy to pay someone for custom cut and properly fitted film that fully protects the vehicle. I'll likely to the door panels forward, rear bumper & hatch. I find rear bumper gets scuffed up from people (mainly my kids) loading stuff like hockey bags in the back.

In the SF bay area a partial PPF job would cost about $1000-$1500. Toyota is $439? The question is are you willing to pay more for better quality or are you happy with a basic PPF job at a lower price. A personal decision...
So... I guess I'm getting a good deal on something ?

I agree, for $440, it is what it is... Can't complain.
It's imperfect but cheap for sure. I'm sure tint/PPF/ceramic will cost me an arm and a leg ... but the PPF will wrap around the hood, fenders etc. For a couple hundred bucks, the port option doesn't look that bad, all considered imo

So, the aftermarket PPF is higher quality than OEM? Of course one has a distinct advantage with the OEM, i.e. covered by the factory warranty, even if one relocates, and Toyota is not about to fold, even with the Tundra engine disaster. 
I have an aftermarket PPF on my Bronco and has 12 year guarantee. It was about $2k and covered the front grill all the hood, 1/4 panels and front doors plus inside the door handles and included a 5 year ceramic coating on top. Seemed reasonable. I believe it was self healing to a point.
was quoted $3,700 to do whole vehicle except back (back where hatch open looks like the plastic bumper so not sure that needs it). Taken all my cars to this guy. He wraps the film under the hood, back side of doors, etc so there are no lines. Think mine comes from factory with film but if it has those lines I will have to see how obvious they are. Might give it a run for a few trips and if no noticeable great. If those lines are obvious I will have him remove it and do it where there are no lines.
Worth adding, I live in an area that sees a lot of snow and sanding the roads, so full frontal coverage is a must to keep any vehicle looking decent. I think I paid $1,200 for quarter panels and forward. (QPs, hood, bumper, headlights, mirrors and strip above windshield. 10 yr warranty and ceramicx coating) I will definitely do the same (if not more) when the LC arrives.
