If anyone is wondering just how big you can go with no lift, here is a 285/70/18 +40 offest with no rubbing and shes tight but she fits.

I went with the same size falken wildpeaks on my +35 offset methods. While they poke slightly more than desired, they fit and look really well.

They certainly fit with ~40-ish offset wheels as widely documented here, but a spare of the same tire size will not fit. I put a 275 under there and called it a day.
Not so sure about that, my 285 is fitting under there nicely. I wouldnt try to drive over some rocks, but it fits.
I suppose if you have a tire that is on the smaller side for a 285 it could maybe/barely fit (but not quite). People have indeed jammed 285s up into the spare compartment, but they generally don't lie flush with the 'ceiling', and thus stick down (like yours apparently does).
