Not sure whether people are up for this kind of contest but this is my very first proud ( and heartbroken) one. I even give her a name “Midnight Blizzard”, if I get lucky enough to keep her with me.

The candidate for future ones are “Rocky Road”, “A Star Is Born”, “Apple of the Eye”, “The Shooting Star”, “Harry’s Wand Sparkles”

I got a chip about a week after getting my LC and then had the front windshield PPF’d. So far so good.

I got that beat. Mine was literally 1 mile from the dealership on my way home from picking up the LC. It was a really hard strike so I guess I am lucky. I shook my fist at the heavens and cursed everything I could think of including dump trucks, sloppy road crews, sun spots, and el nino.

That seemed to work and so far has not gotten worse. I have named it flea.

Dealership down in Florida was really pushy about replacing the windshield when I mentioned I got a chip. Figured I’d wait to get back home and see what insurance wants to do. I don’t think it calls for a whole windshield replacement but I’m no expert.

I'd like to hear more about this. Did you just put Xpel (or ???) right on the front side of the windshield? And your wipers still clear the surface okay and don't scratch it up? Is there special PPF for windshields?

I called the dealer they told me that replacing windshield is $1360 for the part, which you can’t get because the national back order thing, plus there is a sensor recalibration work which is $850, and installation which is $500-600.

So plus tax this is $3000+. That would put LC more expensive windshield to replace than Tesla.

My detailer put Clearplex on the front side of the windshield. No issues with the wipers or scratches yet.
