Took possession yesterday of a relatively low spec model 1958. My first land Cruiser since an LC pick-up I had when working in UAE in 1974. Had one of the first 1979 Hilux 4x4 in UK followed by a 1991 V6 extended cab here in US. No other Toyotas since 2006. Always wanted an LC but out of my reach in the US, came close to the Lexus version of the Prado but the combination of horrendous gas mileage and face not even a mother could love nixed that idea.
Did a 300 mile jog from MN to Chicago, to visit granddaughter, mostly all freeway sat on 80+ revs at 2000 returning 20mpg. Acceleration is quicker than I expected, ride seemed a little harsh, discovered tyres overinflated from dealer, have lowered to correct pressure so will see if there's any difference on return journey. More offroad focused tyres and possibly TRD rims on initial wish list.
