Looking around & not really seeing anything too appealing… do you guys have any running boards you recommend for the 250 prado? My wife is looking to add on a pair as ours has wheels and a leveling kit. Thanks in advance…

I traded out the stock OEM running boards on my base LC for rock sliders from Slee. Not only do they look great with the tapers at the end, but someone is gonna hate themselves when they swing their car door into them!

Nice, can’t use those as steps though

Yes, the slider works as a step/running board. It's one of the reasons I picked the Slee sliders. You can see the tread plates in the picture.
Ahh I see, apologies the images weren’t loading up & I thought they were the trd sliders

How much heavier are these compared to the oem running boards?

thanks

If you go with a set of sliders instead of the OEM running boards, it'll add on the order of 100 lbs additional weight. The OEM running boards are between 20-25 lbs for a set. The Slee sliders, for reference, are around 130 lbs for a set. I'd second that a lightweight set of running boards is better than sliders if you aren't going off road.

Yes, adding weight is one of the concerns but those solid sliders does make the rig look good lol. I read on slee's side that those slider/steps are 130lb per side? if they are 130 per set (65 per side) then thats a small weight I am willing to take on for the looks alone.

But I do have a WTB thread open for OEM running boards in my region, hopefully will get someone looking to offload theirs soon.

I installed the sliders. I'd be stunned if they actually weigh 130 lbs per side. I didn't have any difficulty lifting them up...so, I figured the 130 lbs is for the pair. I'll contact them directly and find out.

Yeah, on the additional info tab, it said the weight is 225lbs... If its not and actually a lot lighter I would suggest they change that, because it might scare away potential customers, like me, for instance.

Yes, I have the optional kit. I have not yet installed because I want to use the same OEM connector that was present on the OEM running boards. When I do the installation, I'll post some pics and details for anyone who is interested.

I think the 225 lbs refers to the shipping weight. Add a box, shipping materials, and a skid to the weight of the sliders. I've already sent an email to Slee.

Confirmed - 130 lbs for the Slee sliders (around 65 lbs/side).

I have been think of the GoRhino Dominator RB20 Slim Running Boards and was wondering if anyone has tried those

Can these sliders be used as jack points? I've seen others that claim to function as sliders but then tell you not to use with a high lift jack. I took a spin on their website but did not see any mention.

I was told by Slee that you can use the sliders as jack points. I actually did put a jack underneath one and can confirm that I lifted the car with no issue.

Thank you. At some point I plan to replace the side steps with rock sliders and have been keeping an eye out for a set that functioned as steps. Can you confirm these do not require any drilling and use existing frame mount points Like OEM? Some out there require (or recommend) additional drilling.

Here is my original post on the Slee Rock Sliders. No drilling and they use existing weldnuts installed on the frame except for two "sticknuts" that use existing holes in the frame. It's a two person job, but pretty straightforward.

does it use factory bolts that was used on oem running boards or does slee supply their own set?
