I had method 701s with 35ET and BF Goodrich 33s on the LC for about 2 weeks. The wheels weight 28lb and tires at 51 with total weight of 80 lb. The overall ride was not bad but I didnot like the Poe and never saw gas mileage on the freeway over 21. The truck also felt a bit under powered for this setup. What bothered me the most was the excessive tire noise at freeway speeds
Went ahead and installed 20 inch oem tundra trd offroad with fallen wild peaks with et 50. The total weight of this set up is 70 lb per wheel. My initial impressions are that this wheel tire combo is perfect . No tire noise at freeway speeds. For the first time I got 25mpg on the freeway, the engine feels much more responsive the the wheels sit perfectly flush with the fenders.
There is no way in hell that I would go back to a heavier tire set up. What’s interesting is that the Ko2s were only 285 size and they are the most compliant all train setup but even then it was a huge compromise on the driving experience. I can’t imagine LCs on 35 or mud tires
in my opinion the huge advantage of LC over jeep / bronco is in drivability, MPG, and NVH, so ruining that for sake of more off-roading look does not make sense
