Trunk lock and close button just beeps at me, doesn’t close

I have the automatic tailgate and there’s 2 buttons up there for closing. One is to close, and the other is to close and lock.

The close and lock button almost never works. It just beeps at me. I’ll end up pressing it five times and eventually it’ll close. My keys are usually in my pocket at this time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Mine does the same, if I open and close any back door the button starts working again, it looks like safety feature.

You need to be closer for it to work. When you push the button do a little Wayne’s World Schwing! hip thrust motion.

It’s kinda weird because you naturally want to get away from the closing door, but for the lock to work you need to be under it.
