So I purchase a set of five Tacoma Over Trail bronze wheels for my LC, went to the Stealers today to have the stock tires and TPMS mounted/installed on the new wheels. The Service rep, informed me that they did not order new valve stems and could not reuse the old ones, which I assume is due to the rubber style stem (makes sense) then he told me they didn't list stems for LC TPMS sensors, and had to get new sensors (which includes a new stem pre-mounted). They ordered 5 of something at $35. bucks apiece. I have 4 brand new TPMS sensors that I ordered for Summer/winter setup but decided not to go that route.

I ordered 5 of (hoping they'll work.
90942-A5005Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor Valve Seal Kit Assembly

Has anybody had any experience doing this?

Did it on my 4Runner about a decade ago. Jot down the code on each transmitter before you mount the tire just in case you need it. I also stamped A though E on each rim and noted that with the code.

Mount the valve stems/tires/balance…

On the 4R I needed Techstream to manually program the TPMS module for initial setup(and every tire rotation as the SR5 Premium only had 4 receivers). You can do that via setting/vehicle setting/tire set switching in the LC gauge cluster. I didn’t go deep into it but looked promising. I think it will read the new sensors if you pick tire set 2 and may not need the codes.

An alternative to Techstream would be Carista to input the codes directly and also read currently registered sensors without breaking the bead.

One of the Toyota parts folks told me to order 42607-76020 for the TPMS, I think that included everything needed.

The LC250 allows drivers to add a second set of TPMS sensors easily, you just need to be able to drive it about 20 minutes for the vehicle to learn the new sensors. Instructions are provided in the owner’s manual.
