Toyota Digital Key download to iphone failing

My digital key occasionally stops working.
It permanently stopped working two weeks ago. When I tried to download the digital key to the Toyota app on my phone, it’s not working now.

Is anyone else facing this issue, and is there any fix?

Are you talking about the Toyota app, or is there a specific app for the digital key?
 
I had all kinds of difficulty getting the digital key to download to my iPhone. I finally found the following info "somewhere" on the internet. It worked so well I kept it in my files but I don't know who posted it nor can I remember where I found it. But it worked - except I cannot access the temperature settings and seat warmer. Other than that, I'm happy! So to whoever first posted this THANK YOU! I wish I could attribute it to you because it saved me a great deal of CRAZEEEE!

“First delete the Toyota app. Then turn off your Wi-Fi and just use your mobile carrier data. Then re-download the app using your mobile data, not Wi-Fi. Then sign into the app. Then, BEFORE you “connect your vehicle“ in the app, make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your phone, get your key fob, and go out to your car and turn on your car. THEN connect your vehicle using the app, and download the digital key. Then you should be able to start your car with just the phone in the car.”

"Further, if you go into settings, within the Toyota App, and change the Manual Key Sensitivity to On and change the sensitivity level to High, locking your doors when leaving the vehicle becomes challenging. It thinks the key is still in the car. So I turned the Manual Key Sensitivity setting off, which puts the sensitivity setting back to medium and it worked much better."

Sorry to get off topic, but did you need to sign up for that? I looked online and found this:

If I look on my Toyota App, it says I have a "Remote Connect" trial service until July 2027.

So, is that an upgrade? I can do some things from my phone, but it would be nice to have vehicle driveable if something were to happen to my key. Thx.

I don't think it's an upgrade - just Remote Connect. Are you running the most current IOS on your phone? When I first downloaded the app, I got only parts and pieces. I could see it was registered, I could check tire pressure and status but I couldn't do anything else. Start wasn't even available. So I deleted the app, cleared all the info out of the LC and started from a clean slate. You might try that. Still odd that I don't even see the options in the app to control the temps and heated seats. But I can start, lock/unlock, check status and tire pressure, etc. Think I'll tackle temps later. Hope this helps!!
