This video from Top Gear just popped into my YouTube feed, so I thought I’d share it with the group. Not the most technical review or the most experienced off-roaders, but interesting nevertheless.

tldw:
They liked the LC250 the most as it was the best all-around package. The Defender was the worst off-road. The Grenadier was a bit too unwieldy and "old school" in negative sense. The G-wagon was objectively fantastic, but they couldn't ignore the price tag.

I had a Grenadier on order and glad I switched to the LC FE

Maybe would have been useful to use the view 360 cameras when going up over the ledge and avoided some of the drama πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Evening all, I'm from the UK and own the new Lc250 FE, anyone tried using a kettle in the power socket in the boot?

Not yet - I have thought about it - or maybe my Zerno flat burr grinder and espresso machine !! I miss the split tailgate on the Range Rover - would have been handy for the tamping πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Thank you! I would love to know which kettles work as I've tried at least 6 (sub 100w) but none fired up!

Yep please share if you find kit that works in the UK model

Is there an AC button you need to press up front to turn the inverter on? It's like that in the US market hybrids.

Something that caught me off guard with my fe was that you have to turn the inverter on. Every time you start the car you need to do it. Pita imo.

So you may already know that but I am pointing it out just in case.

Edit: APIOQM beat me to it πŸ˜€

UK vehicles are diesel no battery so I think it’s different

Great review, actually prefer to have at least on reviewer who isn't a real off road guy because frankly I'm not close to an off road guy. I felt his pain when the Defender was stuck, like, oh I'm about to ruin this vehicle on camera for all to see.

Looks like have the type on the left of the page

To be fair I have only plugged a light with a 3 pin plug into it so not much of a drain on the system

Haven't tried a kettle but I've plugged in my full sized Dyson to vacuum out the interior without any issue!

Interesting...was the car engine running whilst using the Dyson? How many watts is the Dyson ?

Yes, the LC was running. As per the Dyson website, the Big Ball is 250W...this may be considerably less than a kettle! But saying that, you piqued my interest, and I just went out to my work parking lot and boiled 700ml of water in the back of the LC with no issue (motor running).
