Thought I’d share after researching top brands, I needed cross bars to be as low profile as possible due to my garage height restrictions.

Thule (34" length version, feet 4 pack, keys 4 pack):

Added the Kuat 6 grip ski rack with T channel low profile mounts next.
Kuat:

Haven’t had the chance to hit the freeway but at 50 they barely made any noise but I could hear a small amount of additional noise. Driving along the coast with wind max noise was 26 dba and with them it rose to 32 max. That’s still in green area on their scale just above the blue.

I’m sure it will increase at higher speeds and adding the ski rack and then skiis snowboards it continues to get worse, but that’s expected.

Curious how the Grip 6 installs with the t-slot! Post pics! I have one on a shelf in the garage but haven’t cracked it out and bought the tslot kit yet.

Are these the ones here?
  • Thule WingBar Edge 86 cm roof bar 1-pack black | 721320
  • Thule WingBar Edge 86 cm roof bar 1-pack black | 721320
  • Thule Edge Raised Rail foot for vehicles 4-pack black | 720401

Notice in this video they didn't use Thule cross bars. I've seen complaints on the Internet from people who tried t-slot direct mount Kuat Grips to Thule bars. Thule probably would prefer you to mount their gear racks to their bars instead :)
I see this guy used the standard Kuat claw mounts to Thule cross bars

I'm thinking the Kuat/Yakima/Thule t-slot direct mount kits with M6 bolts should also work for LC250 OEM/"First Edition" style short roof rack cross bars which can fit an M8 sized bolt. Curious if others have had different experiences.

Yes that’s correct, if you want the black ones.

Thank you! Looking for something low profile as well. That can support a ski box and possibly an awning. I’ll have to see if an awning could attach or if I’d need a full rack

Interesting, I’ll post once I try it.

Absolutely insane price to pay for these cross rails.
Not the Edge version, but I scraped this setup together on FB Marketplace for like $150 all in. 53" Wingbar Evos + 450R Crossroads feet.

All done, t slots work just fine. It’s not simple to install and it might be easier to remove cross bars with rack attached than just the rack if you need to remove each season…

Thanks for the pics! As someone else mentioned, I was curious about the tslot install being wonky with a non-Thule rig as I have heard sometimes presents some snags.

Looks great! Damn those cover pretty much the full width! Looks good though!

The trick is to insert one side in and leave the other out. Then push it enough to get it past the other end and push that back in from opposite side. I think it’s almost impossible to slide the entire thing in from one side to the other.

Flush-mounted Thule 725 ski rack for comparison:

I’m curious the measurement between roof and bottom of cross bar? Might be the same as mine (~2.5”) but hard to tell.

Is the no spacer between rack & bar?

The height is adjustable on non direct mounted racks for those that have bigger bindings.
