One scant year and my 2024 TRD PRO 4runner in terra watched me drive away from the delaership lot in a 2025 heritage blue LC with the grayscape roof, premium PKG and the roof rack. I thought I may be making a big mistake since the 24 is the last of the tried and true 6 cylinder 4runner. To my amazement the dealer gave me 53k for my trade in, I had a chip in my windshield and 30k on it, The KBB right now for the 4runner is crazy. I paid 56315 for the 4runner last November, so basically spent 3k to drive a pro for one full year. Hell leasing a Nissan Sentra would have costed more. Toyota 4runner's resale is almost like investing in crypto!. Hope the land Cruiser fares as well on resale. However once I drove away in the land cruiser I didnt miss the 4runner at all!
The power is the biggest upgrade here. I can now pass slow drivers up steep grades.

I traded in my 2023 4-door long bed TRD Off Road Tacoma right at a month ago. It was paid for, and after driving my wife’s 2024 Land Cruiser 250, I knew that I had to figure a way to get one myself. In some ways I felt a bit sad to see the Tacoma go, much like you, the Taco was last year for the 6-cylinder and that generation.

I bought a 1958 in Meteor Shower, and just love it. It is strange to say it, but I just “fit” in the Land Cruiser so much better, I never really got comfortable driving the Taco, even with the leather seats and premium options. For one, the long bed felt like a bus at times, trying to park it and maneuver it around. The Landy is so much better at this. I also enjoy the steering and general drive ability, it has an ease about it, along with fairly instant acceleration, and smoothness to it that the Taco couldn’t even dream of. While I slightly miss the Taco, the moment I get in the Landy and drive away, I know I made the right choice, and it just makes me smile.

While nothing is ever perfect, there are some things that come closer to it. I’m happy I went out on a little limb for this one. Hope you continue to enjoy yours Browndirtcowboy!

I sold my '21 4Runner TRD Pro with 24,000 miles on it for $53K...$2K more than I paid for it. It was my 3rd 4Runner with an FJ Cruiser mixed in the ranks. I briefly considered the 2025 4Runner but when I saw the styling and interior, went full tilt for the Land Cruiser. I ended up with a Trail Dust LC grade and was happy to find one without a moon roof.

I now have 3200 miles on the LC with some off-roading. It has taken me a while to gain confidence in the drivetrain but am now very comfortable with and confident in it. I like the LC power and 8-speed transmission much better than the old V-6 and 5-speed tranny. The LC is much more comfortable to drive and much better mannered, especially on the highway.

Mods so far include PPF, ceramic coating, FE front and transfer case skid plates, Icon Recon SLX wheels (40mm offset) and Nitto Terra Grappler G3 in 275/70x18. Next up will be rock rails (still waiting to see how RCI's turn out) and possibly a full-length roof rack. I pull a small all-terrain self-contained trailer (which the LC does beautifully) so am not considering setting mine up for overloading/sleeping.

Wish Toyota would improve:
Make all the warnings easier to turn off, exhaust note, hood struts please
