First big road trip in the LC. Drove from San Diego to Yosemite. First leg of the trip was SD to Fresno, where we stayed the night. Travelled up the I-5/99 all the way to Fresno, up over the Grapevine, and averaged 21-23MPG the whole way there. Absolutely no issue up over the Grapevine, tons of reserve power! From Fresno to Yosemite we took the longer, easier way up through the 140. We didn't encounter any snow but it was such a pleasure to drive. It was still really cold and most nights were below or at freezing. The heated seats and steering wheel were nice to have. We even tent-camped one night and it got down to about 28 degrees. When we were in our hotel, the remote start was nice to have as well. The car was nice and warm when we got to it. Driving around the valley floor, LC averaged 25.5 MPG. Coming home the same way we went, I got about the same MPG. We came up via the 41 and it drove so nicely up the steep mountain!
We fueled up in Santa Ana and then averaged 24.5MPG all the way back to San Diego. It was quiet and smooth the whole drive. I am so thoroughly impressed with the LC and my tire choice!! And for those who are wondering, I'm running Yokohama Geolandar AT4 in 265/70R18. Ran into a guy with a 2021 200 series and we chatted LC for a bit. It's a bit like a fraternity out there. I've had a '99 4Runner, 2004 4Runner, 2014 Tundra, 2016 Tacoma and we still own a 2019 4Runner. The LC is much nicer than the 2019 4Runner, which we do still love. This is just so much more refined.
