I purchased the Diode Dynamics direct plug fog light kit for the 1958 edition (only comes with basic white fog lights). I am trying to find the best way to install these.

I can get my fingers and a short screw driver on all three screws per light, but I cannot get leverage. If I could actually get leverage on the screw driver, this would be a ten minute job.

Next best thing I can think of is to remove the fender liner. If I do this, I presume I will break the plastic trim fasteners.

Does anyone have a list of the fasteners, or (better yet) have a better way to do this install?

I've had my fender liners "pulled back" without breaking any of the fasteners. I only removed the fasteners from the bumper to mid wheel, that was enough to get your hand in there to do stuff. You might only have to remove the air dam and just a few of the fasteners to access the fog light, IDK.

I appreciate the help! I watched a video on removing the front bumper. I was shocked at how relatively simple it looks.

Did you get the yellow or white ones? I am looking at these too.

I just made a post about this, I got the amber… but I agree getting purchase on a couple of those screws isn’t the easiest but I managed with my skeletool. Other than that, it was all pretty easy… also I don’t have to pull anything back, but maybe that’s because of my bumper install? I just laid on my back and looked up lol

You can go through the fenders, but it's best to remove front bumper.
Yep I just popped my fender well out and there is a bunch of stuff in front of the opening, so I am going to wait for my SS5 brackets then take the bumper off and mount those as well as the new fog lights.

Yeah, I am going to try my tiny 1/4 drive ratchet with a phillips head and see if that will work.

If you are selling your LC 1958 Rigid fog lights, im interested on buying them.

They aren’t Rigid. But they are already spoken for.

Anyone know if the two bumper guard plates are removeable from the front or does the entire front bumper need to be removed?

The whole front bumper needs to come off to replace the fog lights.
gotcha on fog lights......but if I just wanted to replace a damaged guard plate would it be as easy as removing from front and putting new one in or still need to do a whole bumper removal.

The housings that hold the fogs can only come off with the whole bumper removed. As far as the fogs, I’ve added a winch bumper so my access is different but I’m pretty sure you can figure out a way to get access without removing the whole bumper… but I could be wrong.

Yea if you’re talking about the pieces in the picture, you def have to remove the whole bumper.

Patience is a virtue. Got a kid from church to stick his arms up inside the bumper. He was able to remove the factory fogs and install the DD fogs. Huzzah!

😂 that is one way to do it. I had to take my front off to out the SS5’s in there.
