I am planning to install a small powered subwoofer beneath my driver’s seat and require a turn-on trigger wire. I believe that since the power port is conveniently located near the area where I need to supply power, I could potentially tap into it. The power requirement will be minimal, as the amplifier will directly connect to the battery. The purpose of this wire is to inform the subwoofer that the car is operational and to prompt it to turn on.

Does anyone know if there is any problem with this idea? Also, is there any chance there is a disassembly guide for the rear console someone can share?

Thanks!!

It will work very well, my WeBoost amp is triggered by the cigar plug circuit.! To remove the rear of the center consol.....

The upper trim panel is held on by the arrow fasteners and just grasp it on each side about level with the upper/bottom row of buttons and yank it straight backwards. The lower trim (shoe) has a screw/bolt holding it in place.

FYI if you search this forum (upper R/H corner) for "interior trim panel removal" there are lots of posts concerning interior trim panel removal.

Thank you!! I didn't see a problem but greatly appreciate your input. Tomorrow I will run the wires as start getting everything laid out.

Also thanks for the tip - I didn't search for the correct terms so that is also helpful. THANKS!!!
