Any one by chance have access to the procedure/ instructions for the OEM rear skid plate installation? I'm sure I could muddle my way through but I do like my instructions.... haha

We're waiting on delivery and install update from our guinea pig @solidbrix

I ordered mine through toyota and they confirmed it as a fit for my LC. Just need to bolt it on. Came with some rubber pieces that i assume are ment to dampen the unit to avoid vibrations ect

Please show what it actually looks like than just the box ;)
What’s the weight of it? 3/16” steel ?

I'll take some pics and weight when I get home today. For science ! I briefly took it out of the book yesterday and I would estimate about 5-7 lbs

Here you go! I installed both a few weeks ago. This PDF covers both. The instructions that came with it were pretty useless.

The rear is easier than the front, although the only real issue I had with the front was figuring out the configuration of the bracket on the front plastic trim.
That's the front and transmission skid plates. There is now a third skid plate that covers the rear diff, which a few folks have ordered and hopefully we'll see their easy installs soon!

Nice! can't wait to see it and hear about a simple and easy install :D

That's part number PT228-89254 right?

Received my Skid Plate today, no instructions in the box sadly, but all the hardware was there. Seems pretty straightforward. The U-Brackets just wrap around the Diff (rubber in-between) for a nice snug fit.

Note that the U-Brackets & rubber in them are slightly angled to match the skid plate angle, as pictured below.

Will install this weekend.

Thanks for all detail photos.
Love to read the post with described photos as I often do to help others.
Just wondering: after the rear diff skid installed, probably the clearance will reduce +- 1” (rubber + skid) ?! This is the only reason I still hold back before order…
Would you help us to measure how thick the rubber is ? Thanks
