New from UK

It increases the revs a bit maybe to give more power for an electric winch or to give more poweer to the 3 pin plug outlet I think ?? ask Toyota ( But they wont know )
Yes but only whilst the engine is below optimum temperature then it disables

Second stupid question of the morning

How do I make my settings take ? When I go to the road sign recognition and click on “notification” I can bring up “visual” (instead of audible and visual) but I am failing to lock that in even for the drive I am making (I know I can’t make a permanent change)

Am I messing it up by coming out by using the “back button” on the wheel - very frustrating - with the HUD working and the notifications in visual only I don’t mind it but when it’s beeping at every change in speed limit and whenever I exceeed by 1 mph it’s not so good
This is really frustrating as soon as you turn the engine off it reverts to the default . I would have thought it should memorise the settings to each key which would be more helpful.

My problem is I am not always setting the change

I know it resets (EU requirement) each time engine is turned off - what I want to be clear on is the key presses to select visual only notification of speed limit - it’s OK as a flashing warning I just don’t want the beeps

Once I have set mine to visual only, it stays like that until the engine is turned off.

Had my first trip in the LC - 4 hr drive north and 3 hr 30 back - mainly M1 in quite heavy traffic with a lot of road works with average speed cameras - then had 45 mins or so over the hills to the hotel

Very happy - I actually like the tech when there are speed cameras everywhere as long as I have turned off the beeps - the radar cruise is very good

Weirdly I am loving the feel of the wheel and the weighting of the power steering - feels great

The ride quality isn’t great on bab back roads and it does track a bit and crash over the bad surfaces but it’s manageable

Plenty of power with the low down torque pulling nicely - I don’t mind the noise if the engine - it’s not a V8 growl but it’s ok

Need to sort the in cabin storage (need a tray for the armrest cool box - can’t find any yet on Amazon for the cool box edition) and get used to the lack of a split tailgate - lack of lights in the tailgate and get comfortable with the arm position on the window - currently find it a bit uncomfortable

The panoramic roof is great

Really pleased with the trunk liner and rubber mats and my dog box and platform arrangement - still a few tweaks to make here and there

Got 500 miles on the clock now and have a 1000 mile trip next weekend up into Scotland to get more used to the LC
Sounds great FT and I’m really pleased you like the engine as this has always been my niggle with these cars.
Had a day in north Yorks yesterday and went up in a Disco 5 (it even made it back!). He had new General Grabber AT3’s which looked good, had barely no road noise and these were on huge 21” rims so are definitely worth considering if the BFG KO3’s never turn up.
Still no news on the delivery of my Invincible but it should be December so not long now……….
Dave - I hope Toyota will have sorted the towing saga out soon, thanks for being the trailblazer on this for us!

Had Grabbers on the last Range Rover on 20’s and they are an option if the AT23 ‘s do not perform and force a change before the KO3’s arrive in UK

On the Road Speed Alert - what are the button presses to select visual only

I can get there but whatever I am doing after it shows with a blue dot next to that option is failing to lock it in

I know it needs to be reselected each time I start the engine (🥺🥺) but I can’t consistently select it which is my issue -

My misunderstanding , I thought you meant the over speed alert . The speed limit change alert, if you turn it off ,still shows in the HUD and changes accordingly but no longer beeps, also this one doesn’t reset once turned off it stays off until you turn it back on.

Off topic slightly available now @ Steven Eagle Bromsgrove

Do you mean that invincibles have arrived in UK or that you are not taking yours so it’s available

Mine is on order with Steven Eagle in Bromsgrove and my friend has just popped in and that was in the showroom as soon as he asked about it they rang me to say that they had bought it back in. It’s the first invincible I’ve seen in the country but it’s a non-MHEV model which is a bit of rarity I would say, but it’s available for someone to buy now

Interesting - mine is a 2.8 diesel without the 48v MHEV which I like but I suppose most will be going the added battery route from 2025 - pure diesel will become a bit of a rarity

Just did 1000 miles over a few days and really happy with it - got to use Low Range and have a bit of a play and I have to say I like the tech now I can switch off most of the audible warnings

Would they not let you have that one to save waiting?

Getting the XL box (and bars) fitted at the dealer tomorrow for my FE

I’ll update you all with some pictures

I believe these boxes are Thule (badged up for Toyota) - hoping it’s half decent and golf bag friendly etc 👀

Yes I could buy that one but as I see it it’s old technology now as it’s not a MHEV plus it’s a used car at more than new price and I don’t play those games but for someone it’s ideal

How is everyone’s climate control?

Mine seems very warm…

Even with a low temp setting and A/C button pressed

It doesn’t seem to get down to a nice temp if the car is too warm…

AC seems fine to me

I don’t like the battery hump and not excited by current generation hybrids and EVs but each to their own

They are bound to solve the battery efficiency challenge and manage to produce longer lasting , faster charging, smaller cells that do not require so much heavy cooling equipment and offer greater range but as we stand in 2024 it’s at an early stage and I will wait for later evolutions

I think you are right Flying trotter the reviews from Australia for the MHEV aren’t particularly positive it doesn’t seem to offer any advantage over a straight diesel you lose boot space and add weight and complexity. It seems it is also slower than the 150 and takes longer to stop.

It’s driven by the need to meet the emissions regs not because it makes any real sense - Harry Metcalfe had a good explanation

XL Toyota Roof Box and Bars fitted

Great shape, and lots of luggage space

Would recommend!
