Hello folks!
soon to be a new 2025 LC owner in Heritage Blue / Grayscape roof.
as it is my duty to frustrate the missus... thinking of wheels and tires and just have some questions and confirmations.

If so, from this thread
seems i can go more conservative with a 275/70/R18 tires (approx 10.83 wide, 33" diameter)

the wheels i'm interested in are Icon Alloys Rebound (Bronze/Black Lip) or Icon Alloys Compression (Bronze/Black Lip), both with +25mm offset

would these would be the appropriate sizes for the wheel/car?

BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO3 (LT265/70 R 18)
Falken Wildpeak A/T4W (LT 265/70 R 18)

now the part that concerns me is that the thread i've linked above specifies a wheel with +40mm offset whereas the wheels i've selected are +25mm offset.

Thanks in advance for your replies,

Al

note: calculated tire diameter from google search result as: Tire Dia = (Tire With x Aspect Ratio)/1270 + Rim Diameter

Icon has a video that says +25 is a bad idea on the Land Cruiser. Stick to +40.

265/70R18 is the stock size on Land Cruiser and First Edition trims, it will work fine.

So it seems 17" wheels are also a viable option for the LC250...

still in work in progress but... here's some of the options...

Icon Recon SLX 18x9, +40mm, Satin Black
Icon SLX.jpg

at a whopping 36lbs per wheel... hmmm...
BFG AT T/A KO3 (LT275/65 R18)

Black Rhino Stadium 17x8, +35mm, Matte Black
Black Rhino Stadium Blk.jpg

weighing in at 26 lbs per wheel
BFG AT T/A KO3 (LT285/70 R17)

Method 703 Bronze 17x8.5, +35mm, Matte Bronze
Method 703 Brz.jpg

weighing in at 26.75 lbs per wheel
BFG AT T/A KO3 (LT285/70 R17)

stock 20" wheels @ 40#, stock 18" wheels @ 26#

aesthetics wise, i'm kinda keen at contrasting the heritage blue with Bronze... but black is always a classic... also not too keen on wheels that are overly detailed...

anyone have any experience with Black Rhino brand wheels? reputable? quality?

thanks again!

Al

Willtheyfit.com is a great resource here.

The hard thing (for me) to keep my head around is the interplay between offset and wheel width. In other words, a 9” wheel with a 25 offset will mount differently from the stock wheel which is 7.5” wide and 60 offset beyond the offset difference. That website calculates it all and gives you a visual of the comparison.

great resource for sure...

i'm still trying to get my understanding of tire spec, wheel spec etc.

we got tire spec in mm width / mm aspect / inches Diameter of wheel... then the rims go about in inches in Diameter, inches in rim width...

then there's people referring to tires as 33" 34" etc...

the black rhino seems like a good option...
there's also another 18" option from Black Rhino...

Black Rhino Warlord 18x8, +35mm, Matte Blk / Dark Tint Lip, 44 lbs

holy crap they're heavy and expensive!

Yeah if I were going with 17" wheels I'd get the Method Beadgrips (one of the 70x series) with a 40ish offset. I didn't really consider doing that early on because Method told me some of their 17" 70x wheels only had a few mm clearance from the brake calipers and I assumed that was why Toyota didn't put 17" wheels on these. Lots of folks have gotten 17" wheels since and say the clearance is more than that. YMMV.

If you're interested, here's a link to a detailed (tl;dr) writeup on Method 703 w/Falken WildPeak AT4W in 255/80R17. I'm very happy I did not choose ICON, see below.

You may want to reconsider ICON based on the following post: ICON Not Great.

Here is the link to Land Cruiser Wheel & Tire Upgrades.
Thanks for the links! Your research very well documented and definitely helps tremendously!

Those tires calculate to about 33” x 10” wide?

Do they also fit in the spare tire space?

The 255 width is narrower than the 265 by 0.408", so they fit quite nicely in the space. You'll see people refer to these as "pizza cutters" as opposed to the wide tires some people like to put on their trucks (nothing wrong with those, but they can create fitment issues.) Depending on the application, a pizza cutter may be better suited to various types of off-road activities. What works for you may be different than what works for me. I've posted a pic of my spare before - since it's narrower, it actually fits better in the space for the spare and gives more ground clearance plus a better brake over angle. I think you can fit up to a 34" diameter tire in the spare location. My spare matches my four corners and I do a five tire rotation.

Kudos to Uraniumrich and Markarian. They consistently help out in wheel and tire decisions even though there are volumes available (which can make it tough to parse through). High marks for making this community better.
