I have only had my LC for a month and I was wondering if the oil maintenance notification is set to notify at 10k or 5k? I have already did the 500 mile change and when start it up I see a number counting down the miles from 10k. So I am assuming it’s every 10k.

I think it's at 5K intervals for the service = top off fluids, rotate tires. AT 10K they also change the oil.

This is the number I am talking about . It looks like a maintenance counter.

It’s telling you how many miles you have until it’s time for your oil change. I wouldn’t wait that long. Oil is cheap. Engines are expensive.
Yep that is what I thought. I was just wondering why it’s at 10k miles and not 5k miles. I have already changed the oil at a little over 700 miles.

I am sure that a lot of Toyota engineers have done their homework on oil change intervals, but for me, with a turbo charged engine doing stop and go city driving, I am doing 5,000 mile oil changes. Pretty sure TCCN has said the same. It has been posted by others that the owners manual describes the conditions to shorten the oil change interval to 5,000 miles, and truth be told, I think a majority of folks fall into that category. Some have said that Toyota wanted to show a lower cost of ownership, by recommending a 10,000 mile oil change interval.

Yep I plan on changing mine every 5k miles too, but I always would rely on the maintenance notification and I guess I will just need to pay attention to that mileage every time I get in. It’s funny that both of my 2022 Corolla’s and my 2020 Sienna all remind me at 5k miles.
