Sorry for the “noobishness” of this question, but here we are.

I was removing my illuminated side steps today and replaced them with the Greenlane sliders. Removal and installation went fine, but I know nothing about wiring, so I’m wondering:

after I’ve disconnected the wiring for the side steps, is there some sort of end cap/plug I’m meant to put on the end of the wire? Leaving it open and exposed to the elements doesn’t seem ideal.

Thanks all.

Yes, you should put an end cap on the plug (the 1958 has the wiring on the passenger side with a plug.) Unfortunately, I do not know the part number for the plug.

Here is a possible solution - buy the connector and insert the end plugs. Be sure to seal the end plugs using a piece of wire or silicone sealant.

You can purchase the plugs from Corsa Technic.

If you check my build page I have the one for the plug and the inserts to seal them. I did that + electrical tape to seal it up.

Ah perfect - thank you. I'd seen your post before about installing the Greenlane sliders, which was super helpful. (y)
