For anyone interested in adding top-of-the-line hood struts, I highly recommend Redline Tuning (Redline Tuning 2024+ Toyota Land Cruiser Hood QuickLIFT PLUS). Redline has this product in beta form but needs to do a fitment test on an actual J250. Anyone near Ann Arbor, Michigan interested in this product should reach out to Andreas at Redline (andreas@redlinetuning.com) and arrange to bring your vehicle. As I understand it, you will get some free hood struts and will do a big favor to the rest of us on this forum who want this product.

I like Redline and have them on my Taco, but to be honest the "El-Cheapos" are working very well on the LC.

I kinda like the prop rod. Reminds me all the POS cars of my past, but more importantly the memories they came with.

I've owned almost nothing other than Toyotas (I did briefly own a Honda Civic years ago), and ALL of them have had the prop rod... I've just always assumed it was a "Toyota thing"

4Runner, MR2, Tacoma, RAV4 ... all prop rods.

I'll be interested to see the design of these. As with others here I've got the cheapos installed which seem to work well enough though notably use significantly different geometry that the OEMS on the GX so I wonder if this puts undue stress on the attachment points or the strut itself. Even so, it's not like I have to make a living opening by and closing the hood of my truck a thousand times per day so probably will never manifest itself into a real world problem even while it eats away at my sanity like a brain worm...

I had the same fears...... the struts on the cheapo kit are just strong enough to keep it open but will not push it open. I actually am impressed with them so far.
