'24 LC LC250 w Premium Pkg + '21 Taco Access Cab
It's awesome!

Some detail: I've owned a 2002 Hundy, '07 Tundra, 2011, 2016 and 2018 4Rs, '21 Taco and just last fall replaced the '18 4R with a new LC-LC Premium (still stock but on Toyo 33s). Yesterday, I tested the towing of my 2000lbs off road camper. I've towed this camper hundreds of times with 4Rs or the Taco. This LC kicks ass. No comparison to the other platforms. Truly a dream to tow something like this with.
  • Drove it from Salida, CO (el 7200ft) up to Monarch Pass (el 11,312ft) and hardly knew it was there. All the other platforms would strain and hunt for gears unless in manual.
  • Hitching up was also easy with the multiple cameras.
  • Setting the tow controller was surprisingly easy despite some online reviews and comments. Now, at 2000lbs, choosing the setting was easy and while I read the software doesn't remember your last setting, the first and default choice is for Electric Brakes on a trailer <5000lbs which I'd assume is probably the majority of things being towed by an LC.
  • Backing up is just plain pleasant. With the birds eye camera view, I easily backed the trailer into a tight garage opening without my wife messing up the timing ;-)
Was 60*F when I started, 44*F on top of the pass. Transmission temp stayed in the middle. (I use that gear icon as a reference, occasionally the temp would rise to the far side of gear circle- i.e. perfectly normal). I'm terrified of this tranny temp issue we see reported, but no signs of it yesterday. Hoping towing with this thing off road is a non-issue. Wheeled for HOURS at a time towing it with the older platforms without issues, and that is precisely why I bought the new LC as our adventure vehicle. Once the snows melt, I'll take it off road and see.

Incidentally, a question: Anyone know what the different brake types mean? There is "electric" or "E-O-H"... I'm assuming a typical Dexter axle with electric drum brakes is just "electric" and it seemed to work fine. What is EOH and when would that apply?

Just curious what kind of trailer you have? Iโ€™m having a hard time trying to find something that works for us/that I like.

This kind. Self built from the ground up. Buddy and I started by welding the frame, adding timbren axleless suspension (giving us 20" of clearance), popup, propex heat, 20gal water, sink, solar, lights. Wheels are tucked under the camper making the track almost the same as our tow vehicles which greatly increases maneuverability. It will go anywhere the tow vehicle can go towing it. It always annoys me to see "off road" trailers with wheels outside the box. A 5x10 platform becomes 7-8 ft wide.
