Hi Everyone- so happy to join this group. Bought our 1st LC after many years of looking/yearning. Bought a meteor shower 1958 with almost zero add-ins at a great price. We are working with the dealership to get running boards, tires, mats, etc, added/changed).
I used to go floundering outside Lima with my great uncle and great aunt in the late 70's in their ~1960's LC so this truck brings back some great memories! I can't wait to use it to make some great memories of our own with my girls.
Replacing a 2015 Yukon, other vehicle is a 2024 R1S (wife needed something less software driven).
Tire question: we are replacing the stock 245/70r18 tires with BF Goodrick TA/KO's. The dealer stated that there is no issue going up to 265/70r18 tires without chaining the wheel. Is this correct?
Thx! Stan

Welcome! 265/70/18 is one of the OEM sizes so yes you can go bigger on the same wheel without any other mods. Some have gone even bigger

Check out this thread for tons of info:

Thank you! I was worried about compromising ride quality or safety if tge dealership was doing something out of spec. All good now…

I put 275/ 70 R18's on my 25 Preimum. Everything fits, nothing rubs and the spare fits up into the stock position. The one thing I would caution you about (that is if you care) would be tire weight. I wanted the KO3's but they are heavy. around 20 pounds more per tire than the Toyo OC 3 AT's I purchased. Some folks don't like the MPG hit as the tank is small and range is limited. I didn't want the extra 100 pounds as I added Victory 4X4 engine, transmission and transfer case skid plates. My MPG solution will be a Sherpa rack with Rotoplax fuel cans for when I venture far.

I have a set of slightly used running boards for sale in mint condition. You would need to pick them up in Tulsa. DM me if you'd like to work something out. It'll cost a lot less than the dealer and installation takes almost no time at all (5 minutes).

Welcome to the asylum Stan.

You will be fine with 265/70-R18 tires on the OEM wheels, but you will take a slight hit to your fuel economy, especially if you put on E rated tires.

Rats! I wish I would have joined this group before I bought the LC and ordered all the accessories (and paid too much for the running boards!). Expensive lesson earned…
Leather, boards, mats, tires are getting installed right now. Looking forward to seeing the end result and taking the truck to meet some dirt!
