I'm a former Wrangler owner (don't judge lol) and was pondering getting a 4runner when my Jeep started jeep-i-fying (electrical issues - surprise, surprise). Then I test drove a Land Cruiser, and needless to say, I was sold. Well, almost sold... I was still debating fixing the Jeep and riding it till the wheelsfell off. But the universe had other plans - I had a crazy client drive me into a state of exhaustion I've never experienced and I nodded off at the wheel, and ran into a power pole and a house. Luckily I had a steel bumper... took the pole out completely and from the front, the car looked just fine. The rest of it not so much No one got hurt and as bad as it was, it could've been worse. Who knows what horrors the crash saved me from.
So with the decision of whether to get rid of the Jeep made for me, I hunted for the color/package of the Land Cruiser that I wanted. I was blown away to find used models selling over MSRP and weren't quite what I wanted for my user needs. So, was able to order my unicorn (at least for my area): single-tone heritage blue with the premium package and Java interior. Hoping to get it by the end of the month.
In real life, I sell real estate in San Francisco (LubaSF.com) but I volunteer in dog rescue which involves shoving lots of dog crates into the back of my car. This beast will be terrible for parking in The City, but perfect for shoving it full of beasts. lol
In my younger years I did A LOT of off-roading and had a tricked out 2011 FJ Cruiser (my ex crashed it) and an old Silverdo with so many modifications that for all of it's weight, it was able to get into some crazy camping spots. I don't foresee the new riding getting too much action on the trails, but there's a few lakes that I have in mind for bringing out the ole' kayak and paying a visit with the new ride.
Not sure how many modifications I'll be making, but it never hurts to look and drool over others. I look forward to seeing the posts and having any inevitable questions answered!
