Just here to claim my free badge. :ROFLMAO: I've been lurking for months and finally signed up for the forums. I used to have a 2007 FJ Cruiser that I traded in back in 2017. I still miss that truck, I find myself driving it in my dreams sometimes. Looking forward to getting into the new LC or GX in the next year or so. Thanks to everyone for being so active and keeping things fresh around here!

We are currently sporting some Mazdas and a Jeep Gladiator for towing the camper. Looking to ditch the Jeep the moment I can get another vehicle that tows!!

Welcome Vault! Never owned an FJ Cruiser, but did own a Land Cruiser we purchased new in 1990. It was one rugged machine. That straight 6 had timing gears, no belts or chains! On the other hand, it sure had to huff and puff at 70 MPH. :) Ironically, our Toyota dealer also sells Jeep/Ram, but sorry, only a reliable Toyota for me, or as with you, possibly a GX550. In fact, the latter is becoming more attractive. The embargo on GX test drives was lifted this morning, so plenty of them (driving impressions) now popping up on YouTube.

Hey Nuke! Yep, I spent a good chunk of my day watching the GX videos today. It's a very appealing truck, and within $10k of what I assume will be my configured LC. To me it'll be worth the extra, but I'm also trying to be so patient for Toyota to hurry up. Having driven newer models of Ford, Chevy, and RAM, I have zero desire to own one of those hunks of junk. They have had nothing but electrical and mechanical issues and failures with low mileage (<40k miles) under relatively normal driving circumstances. Some of the Silveradoes and Tahoes have had multiple tranny replacements under warranty.

I used to own a 2016 Tacoma a few years back and I enjoyed it. Sold it back to Toyota during the plague for more than I bought it for; it was the main reason I parted with it, as I was done using it for household renovations. My partner brought his Jeep into the relationship, so I'm back to having a truck in the house, for now. I think a body-on-frame SUV is the sweet spot for me, and I have no interest in driving a Tundra or Sequoia at this stage in my life. What happened to your old LC??

Hindsight is 100%, should not have, but sold the LC a few years back, and it was pristine. Absolutely agree re the other manufacturers, and add Jeep (Stellantis) to the list. Apologize to your partner, but once owned a CJ, fun and capable offroad, but was problematic. Patience, what is that? At 82, I want that GX550 NOW! :)

No apologies needed, he likes the Gladiator but sees some of the glaring issues. I had to guide him into the light because he kept telling me โ€œthatโ€™s just how Jeepโ€™s drive.โ€ Well then Jeeps are s***!

Thatโ€™s a bummer on the classic LC. I work on a military installation and Iโ€™m privileged to see imports and classics almost daily. I think Land Cruisers are one of the most popular imports, followed by the Skyline and NSX, and I drool at some of the pristine vintage trucks I see cruising about.

Welcome @Vault - The new badge looks good on you. :ROFLMAO:
