There's a local shop that is selling me the OEM toyota rock rails (take off a First Edition) for $475 installed.

I think this is fair, what do you guys think?

Also, does anyone know if these should come with the hardware?

I think it's a fair deal. They're $1000 from Toyota. Just remember these particular ones don't act as a step much at all (they have maybe an inch of space to get your foot on). I'd be curious how much they'd charge you if you installed them yourself. It's quite easy. I installed my own FE rock rails after removing the LCLC running boards. There's really no additional hardware other than bolts needed for the install that I can remember.

probably $150 less knowing labor rates. My only concern is that the 1958 doesn't come with any steps so I will need the hardware and if they don't provide them I don't want to be accountable for those.

Running boards usually mount to the body. Rock rails mount to the frame. The hardware typically isn't common between the models.

Not trying to be argumentative but it's just bolts attaching to different parts/holes in the undercarriage/frame/body. There's no hardware to speak of other than bolts. I took my running boards off by simply removing bolts and installed the rock rails minutes after by simply screwing said bolts in to the LC. It was 4-5 mos ago and maybe I'm forgetting something but I don't think so.

There's 2 other rockrail/running board threads on here that may shine some light on this topic too. I imagine if you don't originally have the illuminated running rails already that you wouldn't need the piece that comes with the hardware kit to hold the bulb that comes on the running rails once you switch to the rock rails. The bulb could already be tucked away in said piece in the hole in the frame or body under the car in case toyota wired it in just in case.

I was operating under the assumption the bolts were different size. Same size, comparable grade, let it rip.
