Iโm picking up the mid-range Land Cruiser in the next week and considering upgrading to the First Edition roof rack. Is there a notable increase in wind noise with the FE rack? Thanks for any insights!

Is it the First Edition roof rack?I have the LCL.C with the roof rack and lots of wind noise.
Sounds crazy do not knowIs it the First Edition roof rack?
The 1st pic is the OEM roof rack without cross bars for the LC and the 2nd pic is the OEM roof rack for the First Edition.Sounds crazy do not know
I agree. I donโt notice much wind noise, if any from the FE rack. Not to be different, but we seem to have NO (zero, zip, nada) wind noise from the roof rack on our FE. OTOH, we will likely never use it.
Same here, I was thinking on removing it and actually resourced the roof rails before I received my FE. I got my FE and the finial determining factor was actually driving it on the highway............... didn't notice any wind noise from the roof rack. The side windows did have some wind noise but nothing I am going to try and correct. Not to be different, but we seem to have NO (zero, zip, nada) wind noise from the roof rack on our FE. Yeah I bought cross bars from someone on the forum, I immediately took them off after driving b/c of the wind noise. Keeping them for storage for off-roading or travel or until someone comes up with a quieter solution. My LCLC came with cross bars and I noticed wind noise on the drive home after purchasing it. I took them off right away and the wind noise stopped completely. (I'd also guess that I get slightly better gas mileage too.)
Looking at the FE's roof rack profile, with more cross members and weight, I'd guess that it produces even more noise, and hurts gas mileage more, than the standard cross bars did on mine.
Might have to try this.Yeah I bought cross bars from someone on the forum, I immediately took them off after driving b/c of the wind noise. Keeping them for storage for off-roading or travel or until someone comes up with a quieter solution.
Takes like 10 minutes or less to take them off or put on.Might have to try this.
