Fun fact: I’m sure a lot of you already know this but took me months to realize that you are able to drive the LC with just the Toyota app if you have the digital key setup. I thought it could only start/lock/unlock the vehicle. However, I left my jacket at work yesterday with the keys in it only to realize I did not have my keys once I got home! I hope this info is useful to some.

Seems like a cool feature to have in a pinch or as a backup to my physical key fog (though it's not available on the 1958), but I wouldn't rely solely upon it. I've already seen accounts from folks that were using the digital key and ran into a problem because they didn't have service to access the app or there were just issues getting the app to work

Yes I have done the same but it is risky. Lots of threads of app glitches or failure. I wouldn't trust it personally.

I can think back on a few occasions had I been only using the digital key, and it failed, how badly screwed I'd been due to the weather. That's a no for me.

I agree with you all. It just saved my ass because I had to walk 10 minutes to get to my car and did not need to walk back. I will always keep my physical on me.

Great, Thanks for sharing. Very useful news to me.

Dealership I bought my 2025 from said the digital key can be a bit funky, and to be careful about reliance upon it.

Nothing wrong with the digital key (not for me tho') but it would behoove you to have an alternate way to start your vehicle.

I posted this else where......... I have the credit card key as my daily use method. I also have a FOB in sleep mode and inside a faraday pouch hidden inside the vehicle. Additionally I have a magnetic sensor hidden on the exterior, that when ferrous metal is passed within 1/4" of a 1/2" target, it unlocks the driver's door, thus allowing me to retrieve the FOB and get home.

Truly awesome preparedness!
