I’m new to diesel engines and I have the hybrid diesel turbo available in my country, searching YouTube is giving me all sorts of answers, appreciate some experienced LC owners if they could give me some advice.

1. Is diesel additives any good? Mostly concerned about engine longevity and fuel economy.

2. Do I need to warm the engine before I drive? For first start of the day I see no temperature bar, it’s summer here so temperatures outside are between 18-24 Celsius or 64-75 Fahrenheit. I have been using the idle up button for about 5 mins to give it some temperature before I start driving it. Does it even matter?

I can't speak for the Toyota but in my 6L Ford, In the summer months, I'd let it warm up for just a few minutes and drive normal. In the winter months, I let it warm up for at least 5 minutes and I added Cetane boost additive every other fuel fill-up.

I have a 6.7 Powerstroke. Personally, I would only put an additive in my vehicle that is recommended by the Owner”s Manual. Diesel engines are very expensive. As long as the fuel is not of questionable quality, just fuel it and drive it. Some will use an approved Cetane booster, but I would only use that if the fuel quality is questionable and it is advised by the Owner”s Manual. And I would only use Ford branded booster.

Wonderful, I have 140K on the ticker and I add 1QT of ATF every 3rd or 4th tank full for lubricity as US diesel sucks.

Most manufacturers of diesel engines will say that warm up idling just wastes fuel and DEF/AdBlue, unless you're driving for only a few minutes at a time. More important is to drive enough to get the engine and oil up to regular operating temperature to minimize the amount of DEF consumption and deposits.
Additives may be useful if/when you drive or park in subfreezing temperatures where diesel fuel can gel and clog the filters/injectors.
