Prolly dumb post, but seems I can’t lock my doors when the engine is running in park and I take my keys with me. Tried this today with my dog in the car so he can have some AC. The truck just did a long beep at me and wouldn’t lock. In the settings I could only locate auto lock/unlock timers. Anyone know if it’s possible?

I found I have to turn off the car and walk away then remote start the car and turn on the AC for the pup. I'd love to know if there was a way to lock it up while running without doing this.

If you use remote start, it’ll shut off after 10 minutes. If you want to lock the dog in the running vehicle with the air conditioning running, you need to get out and use the physical key out of the key fob to lock the vehicle.

Hi, I think it is a safety feature. Specially in Toyotas. My other Toyotas MR2, Camry and two 4Runners had the same feature.

I noticed the same thing last week. I was dropping my daughter off at dance (I have to walk her to the door). Instead of shutting the Toyota off (which it was already in Electric mode while creeping in the parking lot) I though I would just lock the doors and let the A/C run for the minute. But I noticed when I tried to lock, no beep and no click from the door locks.
