When I was in elementary school I'd go visit my dad when he had a 55 series. It was blue and white.. not too far off the Heritage Blue color out now on new LC's!. At one point we rolled that thing on the way to the airport in a Montana blizzard. We literally rolled it back on its wheels, drove it out of the barrel pit, and drove a couple hours back to his home with no windshield. He later replaced it with a 1st gen 4Runner. In High School I still appreciated the Landcruiser. When my grandmother died she left me 5k. I worked a bit and came up with another 4 to buy my first car: a 1971 JF40. Manual 3 Speed. Manual hubs. God I loved that thing..... I owned it several years until, much to my dismay, I walked out of my apartment in college to find that it had been towed away after being involved in a hit and run. It was totaled. College Kid...didnt have money to repair it. Had to let it go. I planned on owning that car for life, and I wish I still had it around. Fast forward, I bought a Trail Teams FJ Cruiser. I owned that a few years, and in a divorce let it go. Too many memories and it was killing me as a daily driver.
Fast forward to today and I am closing in on the decision on a 250... 1958? Premium? I am not sure yet, but In a month or so I'll likely have one. I think in white, to match Brutus, my FJ40, RIP. Thanks in advance for the information I've learned from you so far, and I am looking forward to sharing experiences in the future!
