I've wrestled with ditching the factory roof rails for a roof rack. But, kind of thinking about going with 3 Victory Cross Bars instead. There are less expensive after-markets on Amazon, but the Victory bars are flat, have mounting holes for bolting on accessories, and position friendly (put them where you want).

Would appreciate any feedback on these cross bars. Thx

I have three to do exactly what you are thinking. Still have the Yakima's up there which are great.
The Victories arte the way to go if you want to do it once with the obvious advantages. Ther factory rails are hard to beat and look great.
Good thinking.

I love how sturdy they are and the flexibility to mount anywhere on the rack. Keep in mind they are steel and you will need to treat rust and repaint periodically. Also some mounting devices (strap type) aren’t quite long enough to make it around the crossbars.

Any regrets (or wishes that you went a different direction)?
I’m happy with it

It’s enough to hold what we need, light weight, heaps of mounting points, well built, relatively cheap - and very easy to change if I did want to go in a different direction.

Most importantly for me it doesn’t add much height and will allow me to get suspension/ lift down the line without worry about my wife hitting the 2.2 meter limit that most shopping centers/ parking garages here in Abu Dhabi have.

Here’s a pic:

PERFECT! Thank you! Pics are so helpful! Exactly what I hoped for. Any issues with wind noise or fuel drag (reduced mpg)?
